Veto is the upcoming Sentinel, designed to shut down enemy abilities and lock down sites by denying entry and control.
The new Sentinel, Veto, is set to arrive in VALORANT, bringing a unique ability kit that could shake up the current meta. A product of unstoppable mutation, Veto dismantles powers and tech alike. On the battlefield, only pure aim decides your fate. Veto will be out in-game on Oct. 7, alongside the Skirmish new game mode.
Veto kit
Chokehold - Q
Equip a viscous fragment of your mutation. Fire to throw. The fragment deploys upon impact, creating a trap to hold enemies in place. Held enemies are Deafened and Decayed. Enemies can destroy the trap before activation.
This Veto ability, unlike Fade's trap, can be destroyed by enemies.
Crosscut - C
Equip a vortex. Fire to place on the ground. While in range and looking at the vortex, reactivate to teleport to the vortex. During the buy phase, the vortex can be reclaimed to be redeployed.
This movement ability resembles Omen's teleport. However, unlike Omen's, you don't need to be looking at the destination to teleport there. Instead, you must place the teleport marker in advance, and as long as you are within range, you can teleport to that location.
Interceptor - E
Equip an Interceptor. Fire to place the Interceptor at the projected location. Once placed, reuse to activate. Once active, it will destroy any utility that would bounce off a player and/or be destroyed naturally by gunfire. Enemies can destroy the Interceptor.
This ability cancels enemy utilities like Fade's Terror Trail, Sage's Wall, and Jett's smokes, among others. In a meta where ability is crucial, this Veto's power stands out as the one ready to disrupt abilities.
Evolution - X
Instantly begin to fully mutate, gaining a combat stim, regeneration, and becoming immune to all forms of debuffs. Veto becomes immune to all utility for the entire round, enabling him to hold positions during intense fights.
He becomes immune to ability-based damage that doesn’t behave like firearms (e.g., Raze's rocket, Brimstone’s ultimate). However, damage from bullets and weapon-like abilities (e.g., Jett’s knives, Chamber’s weapons, Neon's ultimate) still applies.
