With so many agents to choose from, it can be tough to decide. Here are the top agents to dominate with in VALORANT Season 2025 Act 3.
With the increasing number of maps and agents in VALORANT, keeping track of the top-performing agents can be challenging, especially in the current meta. Instead of focusing on specific maps, let’s break down the best agents in VALORANT by category, highlighting their strengths and impact on gameplay this season.
Duelists
Jett remains one of the most reliable duelists in the 2025 meta. Her exceptional mobility, combined with well-timed smokes, makes her a formidable entry fragger capable of creating space and disrupting enemy lines. Additionally, her agility and dash ability make her a top-tier operator user on defense, allowing her to take aggressive angles and quickly disengage if a shot is missed.
Despite the nerfs in patch 10.08, Yoru remains one of the most disruptive agents in the current meta. His teleportation and flashes can effectively dismantle enemy setups, creating chaos and forcing opponents to constantly second-guess their positioning. His ultimate, combined with his ability to appear seemingly out of nowhere, continues to be a powerful tool for isolating and eliminating key targets.
In case you don't like either of these duelists, Phoenix is still a great choice for both attack and defense since his kit allows him to secure the site better than some duelists.
Initiators
Tejo is being nerfed, which means that other initiators will gain some space in the pick choices. Sova never disappears totally in the game due to his capability of taking so much information out of the enemy team, but he might be appearing more in your games now that Tejo will be nerfed. Not only that, but his ultimate is incredibly good for a secure post plant play.
KAY/O’s recent buffs have propelled him to the top tier of initiators in the current meta. His flashes and suppression abilities are incredibly impactful, allowing him to both disable enemy utility and gather crucial information. He excels at initiating site takes by disrupting defensive setups and can also effectively delay enemy pushes, making him a versatile asset for both attacking and holding sites.

Controllers
Smoking might not be the most glamorous role, but Omen keeps it interesting with a versatile and impactful kit. Not only does he provide effective smokes, but his flashes and teleportation also make him unpredictable and challenging to counter.
At higher ranks and in competitive play, Astra continues to dominate as a top-tier controller. Her global presence allows her to influence multiple areas of the map simultaneously, making her invaluable for coordinating site takes and post-plant scenarios. With her stun and gravity well, she excels at disrupting defuses and delaying enemy pushes.
For those seeking a more straightforward but still highly effective smoker, Brimstone is the go-to choice. His powerful smokes, incendiary molly, and devastating orbital strike make him a reliable pick for locking down areas and controlling space effectively.
Sentinels
Finally, the defense masters of VALORANT. Vyse is one of the strongest sentinels and agents across all VALORANT elos. Her toolkit excels at isolating opponents and controlling space. Vyse's wall effectively isolates targets, making it hard for enemies to escape. Her Razorvines force enemies to slow down, taking significant damage or eventually dying.
Another powerful sentinel is Cypher. Unlike Killjoy, Cypher can control the map from a distance. His Trapwires disrupt enemy movement and deny space. He gathers intel and provides vision denial with his Cyber Cages. This combination makes Cypher a great agent for holding sites and supporting teammates.
