There are numerous characters in The First Descendant, and each one has a unique kit.
In The First Descendant, you have 21 characters at your disposal if you count the six Ultimate versions of Standard characters.
The characters in The First Descendant go by the name of Descendants and just like in Destiny 2, you can use several of them to unlock new skills and explore the universe to grab new weapons and items to improve their build. The game has three starting characters and the rest is unlocked down the road.
As this game is a live service, the developer will keep adding Descendants to the roster as time passes. On July 31, for example, Luna and Ultimate Valby became available in The First Descendant
Before you hop on to The First Descendant, here's every character (Descendant) available in the game plus their respective role, attributes, and abilities. Learning everything they do is important, especially if you plan on playing online co-op.
All Standard characters in The First Descendant
Ajax
Ajax is one of the three starting characters in The First Descendant along with Lepic and Viessa. The difference is that being a huge tank, Ajax is your best option to absorb damage from enemies and get right on their faces. He's a character who left the Descendant Corps to become a professor, but ultimately regretted this decision and came back.
- Role: Tank
- Feature: A tanker who utilizes Void Energy. He leads the team with a Forcefield that protects allies while deflecting enemy attacks.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: The Raley MK.5 Void Energy Battlesuit, named after "Raley," the first-ever Descendant, is a military suit developed to explore the Void. A decade later, these suits may be outdated, but as the only remaining suit of this series, it is the perfect equipment for the Descendant known as Ajax, despite it being defective. Although the suit was damaged, it had absorbed enough Void Energy for Ajax to allow him to manipulate the Void Energy adeptly, by incorporating it into his own spatial theories and Arche. It may have been the cause of Ajax's mishap in the Void, but now it is an impregnable shield that provides powerful barriers and channels kinetic energy.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Event Horizon | Passive | Acquires Void Energy after using skills. When the Void Energy reaches its maximum amount, it enhances skills and grants additional effects. |
Orbit Barrier | Active | Creates a shield in front of Ajax. Durability increases proportionally to Ajax’s HP and DEF. If enhanced, reflects damage proportional to DEF to enemies hitting the barrier |
Void Walk | Active | Leaps into the air and lands on the ground to strike nearby enemies, stunning them. If enhanced, Max Shield increases for a certain period of time. |
Expulsion | Active | Strikes nearby enemies, knocking them back. If enhanced, knockback range and Max Shield are increased. |
Hypercube | Ultimate | Creates a dome-shaped shield. Durability increases proportionally to Ajax’s HP and DEF. If enhanced, reflects damage proportional to DEF to enemies hitting the barrier. |
Blair
Blair is a character that you can unlock later on in The First Descendant. He was originally a cook who became a fighter after realizing he could manipulate fire rather than simply burn down things like many people. Blair is good at dealing damage over time, rather than providing a big burst at once like other Descendants.
- Role: DoT Dealer
- Feature: A chef who deals continuous damage and who manipulates fire. Gains energy by adjusting firepower. The hot dishes he throws traps the enemies eternally in a flame zone.
- Descendant attribute: Fire
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Incendiary Pyric Release. An Arche ability awakened when he was attacked by Colossus' Fire. This ability releases ionized, high-temperature Arche gas through the veins of his fingers. The gas is ignited through specially-made gloves that assist with the ignition when unleashing a fire attack on the enemy. The attack form can be adjusted according to the concentration of the ionized Arche gas, and because it is different from normal plasma, it is also effective against heat-proofed Vulgus.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Pitmaster | Passive | Critical Hit Damage increases when attacking enemies in Burn state. Critical Hit Chance increases depending on the number of Stoves in the battlefield. |
Blaze up | Active | Spurts flame to deal damage to nearby enemies and creates Stove. Stove inflicts constant damage and Burn effect to nearby enemies. |
Extinguish | Active | Retrieves Stoves in the battlefield and restores Mana. Retrieving Stoves increases DEF for a short period of time. |
Burn Taste | Active | Spurts flames forward. Enemies near the flames’ arrival point are inflicted with constant damage and Burn effect. |
Deadly Cuisine | Ultimate | Throws a large fireball forward. The large fireball split into small fireballs causing extra explosions. Explosion damage inflicts Burn effect and creates Stove on the ground. Stove deals constant damage to nearby enemies and inflicts them with Burn effect. |
Bunny
Bunny is one of the first Descendants to show up in the game, even though she isn't a starting option. She grew up as an orphan and was the greatest troublemaker in Albion. Bunny nearly didn't survive after overusing her Arche abilities, but instead, she recovered and joined the Descendant Corps and started to afford a decent living for herself and her generous grandmother.
- Role: Nuker
- Feature: A dealer of continuous damage who sprints while discharging electricity.
- Descendant attribute: Electric
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Simply known as a "Bio-Cell," this special suit is a Biopower Conversion Device. It serves as an electric storage device that helps Bunny convert and store electromagnetic force generated by her movements into actual electricity. Thanks to the Bio-Cell, Bunny can store electricity generated within her body and attack enemies by releasing electromagnetic force during combat when necessary. However, Albion was unable to create a perfect electric transition device with their current technology because the electricity generated by Bunny's Arche and physical activities was very different from the usual current and pattern. As a consequence, the charged electricity decreases immediately if Bunny doesn't move. That's also the reason why this suit is called a Biopower Conversion Device rather than a typical battery.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Rabbit Foot | Passive | Charges Electricity when moving. Inflicts damage to nearby enemies when landing after a Double Jump. |
Thrill Bomb | Active | Summons an Electro Orb to attack nearby enemies and inflict them with Electrocute effect. |
Light Speeding | Active | Sprint Speed increases significantly and acquires more Electricity. |
Lightning Emission | Active | Moving around deals damage to nearby enemies and inflicts them with Electrocute effect. |
Maximum Power | Ultimate | Shoots out electricity forward to inflict damage. Damage increases in proportion to skill duration. |
Enzo
This is the first supportive character on our list. Enzo shines on the battlefield by supporting others with the assistance of drones. He's the cousin of Lepic and wants to win the war by saving his comrades with countless supplies of warfare.
- Role: Support
- Feature: A supporter who uses supply drones. Commands the battlefield by supplying ammo to allies while launching long-range attacks with drones at the same time.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Inorganic Matter Spatial Awareness Summoning. Enzo's Arche ability enables him to summon inorganic matter placed in his recognized space to the periphery of his Arche's range. While it may seem like a near omnipotent ability at first, it has clear limitations. He cannot summon organic matter, and the inorganic matter he can summon consumes his Arche based on their mass, so weapons of a certain level cannot be summoned. However, he virtually can summon an unlimited amount of rounds for tactical squad-use. For bombing-support drones, those weapons are stored in his exclusive armory.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Shoot Support | Passive | Grants Fire Support to allies within an area around Enzo, increasing their max ammo capacity. This efficiency of this effect increases marginally with the number of Enzos in the squad. Efficiency increases when Enzo disarms the security of the Encrypted Vault, and rewards increase when this happens. |
Start Supply | Active | Summons a Bullet Supplying Device at the designated location. Supplies bullets to allies that approach the Device. The Bullet Supplying Device can be used once by each ally, and disappears when everyone has used it or its duration ends. |
Explosive Drone | Active | Launches an Explosive Drone forward. The Explosive Drone explodes on contact with an enemy or a terrain object, dealing damage. |
Enhance Combat Suit | Active | Summons a Shield Recovery Comms. When the Shield Recovery Comms is first summoned, it recovers Enzo's Energy Shield by a certain amount, then continues to recover the Energy Shield through Enhance Combat Suit effect. |
Perfect Support | Ultimate | Summons a Small Supply Ship to himself and his allies. The Small Supply Ship periodically provides Supply Bullets and grants Perfect Support to allies. The Small Supply Ship attacks enemies in front while it is active, and when the skill ends, it fires a missile forward that causes a big explosion at its destination. |
Esiemo
Esiemo might dominate Fire like Blair, but they're totally different as the former excels at dealing burst damage, not damage over time. He wants to become an outstanding Descendant, and to achieve that he'll have to blow a lot of stuff in the war.
- Role: Burst DPS
- Feature: A Burst DPS who handles explosives. Attaches bombs to enemies and detonates them at the right opportunity.
- Descendant attribute: Fire
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche Reactive Blast-Proof Suit. In addition to the basic protection that it provides, this suit has the ability to collect chemical particles that Esiemo discharges through various routes and store them in an explosion-ready state. With an enormous capacity cost, it can theoretically wipe out an area the size of Kingston in a single blast. The reason Esiemo can make a name for himself, without being caught in the explosions he creates, is that the Arche particles captured in the suit neutralize all hazardous materials involved in the explosion. It simultaneously offsets the kinetic energy applied to Esiemo.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Adventitious Habit | Passive | Drops a bomb on the ground when the shield is completely depleted. |
Time Bomb | Active | Launches a Sticky Bomb forward. The Sticky Bomb attaches to an enemy or terrain feature on contact. |
Blast | Active | Instantly detonates attached bombs. Bomb damage increases with the number of attached bombs. |
Guided Landmine | Active | Places a Guided Landmine at the current location. Once placed, the Guided Landmine will fly to an enemy within its detection range and attach to it. |
Arche Explosion | Ultimate | Starts moving forward fast. On collision with an enemy while charging, inflicts Knockback. When the movement ends, it deals damage to nearby enemies and removes buffs from them. After the skill ends, Esiemo enters Madness state. |
Freyna
Although Freyna manipulates Toxic not fire, she's very similar to Blair in the sense that both of them excel at dealing damage over time. Freyna has had a rough journey as she had to kill fellow agents who began transforming into Vulgus while she only survived because of her powerful Venom.
- Role: DoT Dealer
- Feature: A continuous damage dealer who freely manipulates Venom. Utilizes the venomous substances produced by her body to trap enemies in swamps of toxins.
- Descendant attribute: Toxic
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Neutralization Suit. Freyna's Arche is so dangerous that it ranks among the most dangerous toxins that the Magisters have ever quantified. A neutralizer was certainly needed, but with a toxin that could kill on contact, everyone avoided it. But just then, a newly recruited bioengineer volunteered, and before long, he succeeded in developing a substance that neutralized the toxicity of Freyna's Arche. Until then, Freyna was unaware that someone had risked their life to develop the neutralizer. It was only when the suit attached with neutralizing filters, so that Freyna can fully control her toxins, was completed that she learned what happened.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Contagion Links | Passive | Increases Toxic Skill Power by the number of nearby enemies inflicted with Poison from Freyna's skill. |
Toxic Trauma | Active | Throws poison to attack the target enemy with damage and inflict Room 0 Trauma onto nearby enemies. |
Defense Mechanism | Active | Significantly increases DEF. There is a chance of inflicting Room 0 Trauma to enemies upon attack. |
Decomposed Poison | Active | Throws toxins to form a Toxic Swamp. Enemies entering the Toxic Swamp receive continuous damage, and become inflicted with Poison and Venom-Soaked. Enemies inflicted with Venom-Soaked leave Toxic Footprints as they move, and enemies that touch Toxic Footprints also become inflicted with Poison. |
Venomous Baptism | Ultimate | Changes current Firearm to Venom Baptism. Enemies hit with Venom Baptism bullets are inflicted with Room 0 Trauma. |
Gley
Gley becomes really strong when she unleashes the rage inside her, which makes her one of the most unique characters in The First Descendant. Before joining the combat, Gley was a medical surgeon, but she quit it after The Vulgus kidnapped her daughter.
- Role: Utility Dealer
- Feature: A dealer who becomes stronger the more she gnaws on herself. Unleashes the rage inside her to quickly subdue her enemies.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Variable Arche Firearm "Massacre." Creating a weapon that suits Gley, the only being who can use Arche, as well as switch between the genetic structures of humans and Magisters, was a serious challenge. The main issue was deciding the basis for the output point, and while both Anais and Deslin suggested creating the weapon based on when she's in human form, Gley was adamantly against it. She wanted a weapon that would allow her to slaughter her enemies, even if it meant it ate away at her own life. After much wrangling, the output point was set based on when Gley was in a frenzy. When she finally received the weapon, Gley wordlessly stared at it for a long time before slipping it into her holster and leaving.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Thirst | Passive | Creates Life Spheres upon killing enemies. Recovers HP and stores Power of Life when absorbing Life Spheres. |
Frenzied | Active | Consumes HP to enter Berserk mode. In Berserk mode, long distance weapon’s ATK and Penetration increase. |
Life Siphon | Active | Deals damage to nearby enemies and restores HP. In Berserk mode, damage increases; in Normal mode, damage inflicted by enemies decreases for a certain period of time. |
Increased Sensory | Active | Her Increased Sensory adds an infinite ammo effect for a certain amount of time during Frenzy, and when in a Non-Frenzied state, increases Movement Speed and HP Recovery during which Life Sphere generation is increased. |
Massacre | Ultimate | Changes current Firearm to Massacre. Adds additional skill damage during Frenzied state, and inflicts Stun effect on hit enemies. |
Jayber
Jayber is another Utility Dealer in The First Descendant and all his power comes with his technological gear. The Magisters raised this natural-born genius to become a weapon of war and make the best of his gear. What differs Jayber from other characters is his ability to activate two different turrets, one that deals damage and another which heals allies.
- Role: Utility Dealer
- Feature: A utility-type DPS who uses turrets. Summons turrets for assault and recovery respectively. When the turrets are enhanced by multi-purpose guns, he can fight more efficiently.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche-Sensitive Electronic Network System. Developed to fully utilize Jayber's ability to send and receive electronic signals using his Arche, this system is a formidable electronic warfare device designed to collect all electronic signals within the range of Jayber's Arche and relay them directly to his brainwaves, allowing his response time to be less than 0 ms. In particular, due to their unique versatility and responsiveness, dedicated turrets utilizing this system are used in various battle missions. The use of multi-purpose guns that amplify Arche signals gives him an advantage, even against large groups of Vulgus.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Turret Sync | Passive | ATK increases when assault turret and medical turret are both summoned. |
Assault Turret | Active | Summons an assault turret to attack the enemy. If enhanced, it launches attacks into nearby area. |
Medical Turret | Active | Summons a medical turret to heal allies and distract enemies. If enhanced, it restores Mana. |
Multi-Purpose Gun | Active | Changes gun to a Multi-Purpose Gun. If hit by a Multi-Purpose Gun, turret enters an enhanced state. |
Reactivate | Ultimate | Recalls all summoned turrets and inflicts powerful damage to nearby enemies. After using Total Recall, you enter Overhaul state, where turrets are summoned in their enhanced states. |
Kyle
Although Kyle looks a bit similar to Ajax, he's actually more capable of dealing damage and also can fly. Kyle retired once, but became a Descendant to avenge the friends killed by The Vulgus.
- Role: Bruiser
- Feature: A damage dealing tank who generates and manipulates magnetic fields. Creates a Barrier or radiates Magnetic Force to push enemies back and serves as a strong shield for his teammates.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Flying Suit with Superconductivity Thrusters. Kyle's suit was designed to let him use his Arche ability, Magnetic Force, freely. The suit allowed Kyle to protect and save his allies anywhere and anytime, with functions that allowed him to move high-speed for moments of danger. Completing the suit, however, was fraught with conflict between Kyle's demands over the performance of the suit, and the Magisters contesting this, saying his body would not be able to withstand such power and Arche depletion. At one point, there were loud scuffling noises inside the Magister's laboratory, followed by Kyle walking out, infuriated. Eventually deciding to build the suit himself, Kyle received the materials from the Magisters. Before long, the completed suit was more than just a mere demonstration; it was exactly the way he wanted.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |
---|---|---|
Experienced Technician | Passive | Kyle acquires Magnetic Force through skills. When his shield is completely depleted, he recovers shield and Magnetic Force over a certain period of time. |
Repulsion Dash | Active | Dashes towards enemies, dealing damage and recovering Magnetic Force. |
Magnetic Bulwark | Active | Creates a frontal Barrier to protect against enemy attacks. Recovers Magnetic Force depending on the type of projectile blocked. |
Magnetism Spurt | Active | When damaged, Magnetic Force is reduced instead of HP or Shields. After a certain period of time, Magnetic Force detonates to deal damage around him. |
Superconductivity Thrusters | Ultimate | Allows him to fly. When landing, deals damage in an area around his landing zone, consuming all accumulated Magnetic Force. The damage dealt is proportional to the amount of Magnetic Force consumed. |
Lepic
Lepic is perhaps one of the most balanced characters in The First Descendant as he can soak up a bit of damage and inflict a ton of damage himself. Although he lost his right arm in a battle with the Dauntless 44th Grenadier Squad, Lepic went on to become a Descendant and got even stronger.
- Role: DPS
- Feature: A dealer who uses grenades to attack. Clears the battlefield with his Tactical Prosthetic Arm and grenades which boast a powerful performance.
- Descendant attribute: Fire
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche Drive Tactical Prosthetic Arm. The Arche Drive Tactical Prosthetic Arm is a device created to compensate for the Descendants' loss of limb and is linked to their Ecive. Direct transmission of brain signals allows the Descendants to use it like their own limbs. It is also linked with their Arche, helping manifest a variety of abilities. Among them, Lepic's exclusive prosthetic arm has been designed to infuse explosive Arche into rounds and grenades, and also enables him to fire concentrated Arche when he focuses his mind.

Luna
As said, Luna made their way into The First Descendant post-launch, on July 31. This unique Descendant is a musician who uses tunes to buff herself and her allies, giving players one more supportive option.
- Role: Support
- Feature: A buff-type Support who grants beneficial effects to allies using her own music. Bestows a variety of music and buffs to allies within a radius around her.
- Descendant attribute: Non-Attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche Amplification Synthesizer Gun. The Magisters built Luna a special suit and speakers with controls to keep her sound waves from reaching a range that would harm her allies. Unsatisfied with the lack of instruments, Luna started to disobey orders, resulting in the suit's controls malfunctioning and Luna becoming completely out of control. Horrified at the possible disaster of their eardrums exploding, the Magisters calmed Luna down and began working on a new design immediately, with the primary goal of making it as "instrumental" as possible. The development procedure was faster than ever, triggered by the Magisters' fear of losing their hearing. Luna's Unique Weapon, the Synthesizer Gun, was designed to calculate any similar music Luna sang to the according equation, and to amplify her Arche proportional to her concentration. Luna found it fascinating that this simple instrument responded to the different songs she sang, and she enjoyed the fact that the more she focused on the stage, the more her abilities bloomed. After receiving the synthesizer, Luna left the lab smiling like she always did.

Improvisation | Passive | When using a skill to hit the Note, Inspiration Gauge goes up. When the Inspiration Gauge maxes out, an Enhanced Skill which enhances skills can be used. Using the Enhanced Skills completely depletes the Inspiration Gauge. However, failing to hit the Note, some of the Inspiration Gauge is given back. |

Sharen
Sharen has one of the most tragic stories of all The First Descendant characters as The Vulgus almost entirely mutilated her body in an assault. However, Sharen remained alive thanks to her new cyborg body, which also deals a bunch of damage.
- Role: Close-Range Dealer
- Feature: An assassin-type melee dealer with Electric Arche. Using camouflage, she can close the distance to her enemies whenever she desires, and ambush enemies anytime, anywhere.
- Descendant attribute: Electric
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche Drive Full-Body Prosthetic Colon:00. From the planning stage, this experimental full-body prosthetic technology was controversial. The Arche Drive was originally designed to replace lost body parts, so the idea of attaching it to the entire body raised ethical concerns about prolonging the suffering of the wounded, who were effectively dead, to utilize them as weapons of war. But for Sharen, this was a minor concern. Rather, she was constantly demanding physically taxing heavy weapons, new technologies and firmware upgrades, controlling her body prosthetic with only her Arche and sheer willpower.
Skill name | Skill type | Skill description |

Assassinator | Passive | Damage increases when attacking an enemy that is not attacking Sharen. Killing enemies with a skill in Ambush state resets cooldown for Active Camouflage. |

Impact Rounds | Active | Launches built-in explosives forward from the arm to stun enemies. |
Flash Shortsword | Ultimate | Targets enemies within aiming range, and throws multiple knives to attack them. Knives explode to inflict enemies with damage and Electrocute effect. |
Valby
Thanks to her Arche, Valby is a real menace on the water. You'll realize when playing with her, that her skill kit is quite unique.
- Role: Constant DPS
- Feature: A dealer of continuous damage who moves around freely through her Water Arche. A terrifying torrent to her enemies, she's always a refreshing ocean wave to her teammates.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche-Hydro Symbiosuit. With her Arche abilities, Valby can turn into water, anytime and anywhere. As such, her unique drawbacks are also like water. Over time, moisture evaporates, and she is unable to maintain her shape. Valby's exclusive suit is an environmental shielding suit that was designed to compensate for this. Not only does it assist in Arche-hydrogen bonding, so she can take on human form, but it also features shape memory technology that enables Valby to assemble and disassemble with Arche, providing her with various tactical capabilities.

Water Intake | Passive | When using skills while standing on water, she consumes less Mana. |
Bubble Bullet | Active | Bounces a Bubble Bullet forward to create a small puddle where the Bubble Bullet impacts and where she stands. Enemies in the small puddle take continuous damage and are inflicted with Laundry. |
Plop Plop | Active | Creates a large puddle where she is standing, then dives in. Vallby then pops out at a selected location in the large puddle. Enemies in the large puddle take continuous damage and are inflicted with Laundry. |
Laundry | Active | Vallby becomes Liquefied. While Liquefied, she cannot take her feet off of the ground or use skills, but she can move through enemies and her Movement Speed and DEF increase. When moving while Liquefied, she creates a path of water that deals continuous damage to enemies and inflicts Laundry. |
Laundry Bomb | Ultimate | Changes the equipped weapon to the Laundry Bomb Launcher. When the Launcher is fired, a Laundry Bomb is created, pulling in enemies inflicted with Laundry and dealing continuous damage. |
Viessa
The only official Debuffer in The First Descendant is Viessa, who opted to join the Descendant Corps rather than go to prison. This character manipulates Chill to freeze enemies, helping out the party. Viessa is also one of the three starting characters, and although she deals less damage, she's not bad at all.
- Role: Debuffer
- Feature: A debuffer who uses Chill at will. She uses Chill to freeze enemies in place, unleashing Cold Snap-like attacks as she weaves her way between them.
- Descendant attribute: Chill
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Arche Refrigerant Release Drone. The Arche Refrigerant Release Drone is a battle sub-system modified specifically for Viessa. It uses thermal sensors to automatically track down and attack the Vulgus who become colder than their surroundings, i.e. enemies that have been attacked by Viessa. The drone is linked to Viessa's Arche; when Viessa uses her abilities, the drone is summoned automatically. Various drone technologies have been researched to enhance Viessa's battle capabilities. The very first fruit of such efforts was the Arche Refrigerant Release Drone. Since then, it became possible to link the Arche of other Descendants to dedicated drones and turrets, and Viessa would sometimes joke that she was what started the Arche drone technology.

Yujin
Yujin is an ideal character for a party of four players due to his supportive ability to heal allies with drones. Unsurprisingly, he worked as a doctor before joining the Descendant Corps.
- Role: Support
- Feature: A healer supporter who uses his select drones to heal allies. He heals allies and grants them beneficial buffs after determining the distance between the allies and him.
- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Cellular Regeneration Boost Factor Generator. Depending on a Descendant's own Arche, it is common for normal Arche to increase abilities or immunity. But Yujin's Arche had no effect on him at all. The healing mechanism in Yujin's Arche only applied to other people. The Arche was of no help to him. Everyone in the testing lab fell silent for a moment. Yujin was the first to open his mouth. Casually joking this was the reason why he was delicate, he said since he was a doctor, it naturally made sense. However, since he absolutely hated being bothered, Yujin requested the healing device be developed so that he would be bothered less.

All Ultimate characters in The First Descendant
Ultimate are powerful versions of existing characters in The First Descendant and they also have a special skin. There are six of them as of now, but NEXON will add more later on.
You can either straight out buy these Ultimate versions or grind the game to unlock them for free, it's up to you.
Ultimate Ajax
- Role: Tank
- Feature: Through the Ultimate Project, Ajax has gained immense power. He leads the team with a Forcefield that protects allies while deflecting enemy attacks.
- Descendant Attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Ultimate Equipment, Territory Defense Specialized Battlesuit "Belief." The pinnacle of personal defense, the remains of this Ultimate equipment, "Belief", were discovered in an Ancestors' facility in the Agna Desert. As it stands, they reconstructed as much of it as they could based on those remains and the fragmented blueprints. However, given its overwhelming power, despite its low reproduction ratio, the Magisters speculate that the original version of this Ultimate equipment was fitted with a battlesuit that rivaled that of a Colossus. The problem is that no one knows what defeated the Ancestors who donned such powerful suits.

Ultimate Bunny
- Role: Constant DPS
- Feature: Through the Ultimate Project, Bunny has gained immense strength. The more she runs, the greater the electrical energy she accumulates, allowing her to release this energy in a powerful shockwave.
- Descendant attribute: Electric
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Ultimate Equipment, Ultra-lightweight Motile Battlesuit "White Rabbit." This Ultimate equipment wasn't originally intended for Bunny, but an unexpected "field test" conducted by Bunny revealed its true potential. The micro-vibrations of the battlesuit boots gave even greater power and speed boosts thanks to the biocurrents generated by Bunny, allowing her to generate even more currents and manifest Arche abilities that are many times more powerful than before. The only downside is that the rare element unique to this Ultimate equipment turns her hair white.

- Descendant attribute: Non-attribute
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Ultimate Equipment, Life Energy Absorbing Battlesuit "Deathseer." By reverse engineering Viessa's emission-type Arche ability-enhancing battlesuit, this equipment literally enhances absorption rather than emissions, taking Gley's unique battle skills to new heights. The original design was meant to be used in the helmet, but at Gley's request, the visor was modified to sacrifice some protection in favor of a more specialized purpose.

- Feature: Through the Ultimate Project, Lepic has gained immense power. Clears the battlefield with his Tactical Prosthetic Arm and grenades which boast a powerful performance.
- Descendant attribute: Fire
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Ultimate Equipment, "Indomitable Knight" Mobile Infantry System. This equipment, named Indomitable Knight, was first discovered in the ancient blueprints stored at the Ancestors' facility in Kingston. It could be faithfully reproduced with the current generation of technology, thanks to its simple and reliable design. Based on these findings, the Magisters have inferred that the Indomitable Knight may have been part of the standard equipment for the Ancestors' mobile infantry. However, it remains a mystery how the Ancestors, who mass-produced such superior equipment, could have perished without a trace.

- Exclusive equipment/ability: Ultimate Equipment, Arche Environment Containment Suit "New Wave". The completed Equipment was the outcome of a very fortunate coincidence that Bunny stole from the Magister workshop. While Bunny stole the prototype, which slowed the development procedure, it was her operational testing that revealed the environmental shielding function that stopped Arche depletion. This not only allowed Valby to retain over ten times as much water at all times as her prior suit, but also change her combat style.

Ultimate Viessa
The only official Debuffer in The First Descendant is Viessa, who opted to join the Descendant Corps rather than go to prison. This character manipulates Chill to freeze enemies, helping out the party. Viessa is also one of the three starting characters, and although she deals less damage, she's not bad at all.
- Role: Debuffer
- Feature: Through the Ultimate Project, Viessa has gained immense power. She uses Chill to freeze enemies in place, unleashing Cold Snap-like attacks as she weaves her way between them.
- Descendant attribute: Chill
- Exclusive equipment/ability: Ultimate Equipment, Emission-type Arche Battlesuit "Absolute-Zero." Discovered long ago in an Ancestors' facility with a temple-like appearance, this Ultimate equipment is designed from top to bottom for emission-type Arche users. Specialized gloves on the wrists connect directly to the user's veins via nanoparticle injection tubes. A helmet-type computing device calculates the Arche concentration in the blood in real time to aid in the efficient and powerful use of Arche abilities. Interestingly, the equipment was found in a temple-like place, and its appearance is reminiscent of priestly robes. In light of all this, the Magisters have concluded that the equipment was likely used in religious rituals by the Ancestors. If so, which gods did they worship, and why did those gods abandon the Ancestors?
