It’s a real cliffhanger.

Who doesn't enjoy a good cliffhanger? What? Poor choice of phrasing? If you're a long time fan of Tekken 8 then you know that lurking around every corner is a cliff with a buff dude being thrown off it by another buff dude he's related to. And guess what: Tekken 8 is no different with the Despair ending.

We suppose that's a sort of spoiler for this non-canon, "bad" ending to the newest Tekken title. Then again... You know what these games are about, right? Anthropomorphic bears, giant robots, bowling, patricide, and things (people) being thrown off cliffs.

Anything less would be uncivilized. So, here's how you get the good stuff in Tekken 8.

Oh, and: Spoilers for the end of Tekken 8, obviously. You've been warned.

How to get the Tekken 8 Despair ending

There are two endings within the Tekken 8 main story mode. The first, official, and far more boring option is the Hope ending. Blah blah, order restored, good over evil, not even a single cliff involved. However, it does involve DBZ-like energy balls, people being turned into angels, and hitchhiking. That's cool, I guess. If you're into that kind of thing.

However, we all know what you're here for and the Tekken 8 Despair ending delivers. All you have to do to get the 'bad' ending is lose the fight to Kazuya. Simple, right? Alternate ending, acquired. You can watch the sequence above, but it also includes an added bonus. The ending credits even see changes based on getting the bad ending, with Nina, Jack-8, and Bryan causing havoc.

The only thing I want to know is why there always seems to be a cliff around when Tekken guys need it most. Is there a catalog? Does Door Dash handle this? Does Kazuya have a cliff guy on speed-dial?

Shrug. Regardless, it's a tale as old as time, cliff as old as rhyme.
