A new patch in Teamfight Tactics Set 9 just dropped, so here’s the popular legend strategy taking the meta by storm.

Teamfight Tactics patch 13.13 saw a lot of balance changes to legends in order to make way for viability of less-used and underpowered legends. This patch implemented nerfs to Ornn, Vladimir, Master Yi, and Twisted Fate legend augments. Additionally, the new patch buffed Aurelion Sol, Caitlyn, Draven, Ezreal, Tahm Kench, Urf, and Veigar legend augments.

As of June 29, 2023 3 p.m. PT, a mid-patch update to patch 13.13 has reverted the buffs to the Draven legend mentioned in the strategy below. You can still try out that legend or play with some of the other buffed legends to see if they suit your playstyle!

The most popular and best legend to equip has quickly shifted to Draven. Buffs to the percentage chance of dropping loot at all three tiers has made this augment almost instantly selectable. It is even more enticing if you have a strong start, as the loot will help you snowball out of control. With this augment making it much easier to hit economic thresholds for interest early, you can easily push for levels 4 and 5 before the Stage 2 carousel.

Whether you are behind or ahead in tempo or health, this augment helps you stay ahead of the curve in terms of economy. With the gold accrued from this augment into Stage 4, you can find yourself able to go level 8 on 4-2 a lot of the time, especially if you chose Spoils of War for the first augment. You may also find it easy to get to level 9, but always keep in mind the win condition of three-starring a 4-cost carry.

If you feel as though you won't have enough gold to make a strong level 8 board, then the extra rolls granted by the buff to these augments may help. Furthermore, you can take this augment as a win condition to hit an uncontested three-star 4-cost or even a three-star 5-cost unit. If neither of these conditions are in the cards, you may want to take a combat augment to make up for the lack of combat statistics from taking the previous tailored augments.

You will see many people take the Draven legend. Just remember it is all about tempo, getting to level 8, playing your strongest board, and finding the win condition. Good luck on your climb!
