You’re going to have to craft it.
One of the first of many obstacles in RuneScape Dragonwilds early access is hunting a deer. Since they are incredibly agile, the best way to take them down is from a distance by using a bow and arrow.
Sadly, the game doesn’t explain how you can get one, and if you have been scratching your head wondering how to obtain it, you’re not the only one. As such, in this guide, we explain how to get a bow in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
How to craft a bow in RuneScape Dragonwilds

To get a bow in RuneScape Dragonwilds, you’ll have to craft it. However, before you can do so, you’ll need to obtain its recipe. Below, you can find the steps to get the Ash Shortbow recipe:
- Craft a Spinning Wheel.
- Use the Spinning Wheel to craft Coarse Thread
- Obtain the Ash Shortbow and Ash Battlestaff recipes.
To craft the Spinning Wheel, you’ll need the following items:
- x12 Ash Logs
- x4 Flax
- x2 Stones

Flax is a blue-colored flower that grows all around Bramblemead Valley. It’s the area with dilapidated stone buildings and the Restless Spirit.
You can get Ash Logs by chopping trees with the Stone Logging Axe or picking them from the ground near trees. While you're at it, use the Axtral Projection runic ability to break them down quickly and save up some time.
Stones are usually scattered near the lake. You can pick them up directly or use the Stone Pickaxe on Stone Boulders to obtain massive chunks of them.
