Magic Thread in Fisch: What it does and how to use it
Unlike other items like GPS, Fish Radar, rods, and Bait Crates, you can’t just use your Magic Thread in your quick slot since it is a type of material used for crafting rods.
Going to the Ancient Archives will lead you to an area called the Crafting Altar, where you can make specific rods by completing a set of requirements and materials. Seven of the craftable rods in the game listed Magic Thread as one of their core materials:
- Precision Rod (1x Amethyst, x2 Mythical Driftwood, 1x Magic Thread)
- Wisdom Rod (1x Ruby, 2x Mythical Driftwood, 1x Magic Thread)
- Resourceful Rod (3x Amethyst, 2x Lunar Driftwood, 1x Magic Thread)
- Seasons Rod (2x Opal, 3x Frozen Driftwood, 1x Magic Thread)
- Krampus’s Rod (3x Icicle, 1x Festive Driftwood, 1x Magic Thread)
- Riptide Rod (3x Ruby, 3x Atlantean Driftwood, 1x Magic Thread)
- Voyager Rod (3x Opal, 3x Void Wood, 1x Magic Thread)
If you have any of the requirements and materials needed for a particular rod mentioned in the list above, you can use your Magic Thread to craft it on the Crafting Altar.

How do you get it?
You can acquire Magic Threads by randomly getting some while fishing or as rewards inside Treasure Chests.
In case you’re interested in farming Treasure Chests to collect some Magic Threads, you’ll need to find as many Treasure Maps as you can, which is easier to do by using the Sunken Rod.
Unfortunately, the Sunken Rod can only be obtained by also opening Treasure Chests, so count yourself lucky if you find one.
Warning: Magic Threads are untradeable and might lag your server if you have too many of them in your inventory. Don’t farm them too much!
