The Sun God event, one of the most distinctive weather systems in Grow a Garden so far, makes its debut in the game’s Friendship Update.
So, you just witnessed the popular Sun God Event in Grow a Garden. But instead of seeing a passive effect that mutates your crops, there’s nothing to do here but watch as the giant golden monkey spreads its light across the map.
If you're confused as to what this event does in the game, here is everything you need to know, including some helpful tips.
The Sun God Event in Grow a Garden

The Sun God Event is a type of limited-time weather system from the Friendship Update. Just like admin weather systems, the Sun God Event can be triggered by the game’s creator himself, Jandel. However, for an extremely low chance, players have reported seeing the Sun God automatically without Jandel’s intervention.

If you’re fortunate enough to stay online when Jandel announces his presence by sending system messages to all players, he might use his admin commands to activate one or two special weather effects. During the Friendship Update, he often chooses The Sun God.

What does the Sun God do?
The Sun God Event doesn’t passively mutate a random crop of a player. Instead, it provides an opportunity for four players to show their harvested Sunflower crops to the golden monkey NPC, which, in turn, mutates those Sunflowers into Dawnbound.
Things to do during the Sun God Event

To make the most out of the Sun God Event in Grow a Garden, you should harvest a Sunflower crop in your farm. A Sunflower seed is obtainable from the Flower Seed Pack in the Honey Shop.
The chance of pulling a Sunflower seed from a Flower Seed Pack is a staggering 0.5%, so plant it right away if you manage to get one.
Once you have a Sunflower in your inventory, look for three players in the map who also have a Sunflower. Make them harvest their Sunflowers and show them to the golden monkey NPC to trigger the Dawnbound Mutation.
The Dawnbound Mutation is the only mutation exclusive to a specific crop in the game. It gives a 150x selling value multiplier, so a Dawnbound Sunflower without any other mutation can catch a price of at least 20 million Sheckles alone.
