Get another token for The Hunt by saving Bikini Bottom!

So, it’s time for you to get the token for SpongeBob Tower Defense’s The Hunt event, eh? If it’s your first time playing this game, read this first to have some idea of what you should do.

Like most tower defense games, SpongeBob Tower Defense pits you and your ally in an area where you need to position defensive units strategically before the invading mobs appear.

Thankfully, unlike other participating experiences for The Hunt: Mega Edition, this game is quite easy to learn, especially for the fans of the tower defense genre.

The moment you enter SpongeBob Tower Defense from the event hub, you’ll get instantly transported to the experience, and the game will allow you to choose a starting unit if you’re a first-time player. Your choice won’t matter anyway, since The Hunt event will give you a set of free units to use.

Once you can move your Avatar around Bikini Bottom, keep walking straight until you see the event bus for The Hunt event. Your goal to get the token for this game is “defend Bikini Bottom against 15 waves of enemies.”

Tip: You can teleport right at the event bus by clicking The Hunt event on the right side of your screen and hitting “Teleport.”

Stand on one of the blue circles inside The Hunt event area, and if another player joins you inside the circle, they’ll become your ally for the tower defense quest.

All units you can use

The mechanics for this event are simple: prevent Plankton’s mobs from entering Bikini Bottom with the help of the following units:

  • Barnacle Boy Patrick
  • Grandma Square Pants
  • Band Geek Sandy
  • Mermaid Man SpongeBob
  • Patty Obsessed Squidward
  • Mr. Krabs

Before the mobs come your way, you’ll have a few seconds to position your units along their path. To use a unit, you need to spend coins. You only have 550 coins at the beginning of the game, so the only starting units you can count on this time are Barnacle Boy Patrick and Grandma Square Pants.

Prioritize putting one Patrick at the entrance of the mob’s path, and if you have enough coins, buy another Patrick for additional splash damage or Grandma Square Pants for continuous piercing damage.

The unit with the second highest damage output in this quest is Mermaid Man SpongeBob, who can attack mobs in a line. SpongeBob is best to put near the entrance with Patrick, where the mobs are perfectly lined up and also susceptible to splash damage.

Feel free to use the other units as well, but the best ones that you can set up to increase your odds of annihilating the enemies are SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, and Sandy, thanks to their high DPS and decent range. Squidward is kind of lackluster since it’s too expensive and slow, but you should still put it on the field whenever you have the chance.

As you work your way through Waves 5 and onwards, keep on upgrading your units whenever you have enough coins. Each unit is only deployable three times, so use them wisely.

The best place to position most of your units is the spot between the two buildings, as this area allows the units to deal maximum damage to the mobs as they navigate the rounded path. Be ready for some tanky bosses that may require you to upgrade more of your units to increase their range and firepower.

The hunt event for SpongeBob Tower Defense is actually easy to solo, and your upgraded units should be able to take down Plankton at the final wave, giving you the token as one of the rewards.
