Learning the parry mechanic will allow you to conquer stronger foes in The Forge.

In Roblox’s The Forge, it is possible to prevent any damage from an enemy if you know how to parry. Not all players are aware that they can deflect attacks, which usually limits their combat potential, even if they have already crafted powerful weapons and armor.

As soon as you reach The Forgotten Kingdom, you’ll likely encounter enemies that can take you down in just a few hits. Your survivability usually depends on your gear set and dodging skills, but you’ll likely get overwhelmed in The Volcanic Depths by hostile NPCs, like the Elite Deathaxe Skeleton and the Reaper.

If you’re ready to learn the art of parrying so you can mine ores without the fear of getting wrecked, here’s how you can master it. Also, check out our guide on the Goblin King quest in case you haven't accessed the Goblin Cave yet.

The Forge: Parrying guide

To do a parry in the Forge, the only key that you need to press is F if you’re using a keyboard, and press the shield symbol if you’re playing on mobile.

The parry option is only available if you equipped your weapon, so keep this in mind, as it is a common mistake for some players to parry while their pickaxe is active.

Knowing the parry button isn’t enough. To use the skill effectively, you need to time your parry the moment an enemy’s attack connects. Fortunately, all the monsters in The Forge have a set of predictable attack animations that you can analyze, so there’s always a proper timing for parrying the attacks of every enemy.

If you want to farm essences and money, target enemies that use heavy weapons. They hit hard, but their slow attack animations give you plenty of time to react and land a clean parry. So far, the toughest enemies that bear heavy weapons in the game are the Elite Zombie, Deathaxe Skeleton, Elite Deathaxe Skeleton, and the Reaper.

Some hostile NPCs, like Slimes and Blazing Slimes, show a red particle effect before they attack. Use this visual cue to time your parries more reliably during fights.

Parrying takes some time to master, so take your time and start by studying the attacks of a single NPC.
