Turn your harvests sweet and chocolatey with this rare mutation in Grow a Garden!

In Grow a Garden it’s possible to earn at least a hundred million Sheckles by just letting your crops obtain multiple mutations. The Choc or Chocolate Mutation, for example, can double the selling value of an afflicted fruit.

We’ll show you how to get the Chocolate Mutation in Grow a Garden, including other important details on this unique type of mutation.

Your crops can only get the Chocolate Mutation during an admin weather called Chocolate Rain. This weather system is similar to Standard Rain except the rainwater becomes chocolate and the sky turns brown.

Note: There used to be an event-exclusive gear called the Chocolate Sprinkler, which can also give the Chocolate Mutation. However, the gear is no longer available since the event already ended.

Like the Lazer Storm event that gives out the Plasma Mutation, Chocolate Rain only spawns if an admin decides to trigger it using exclusive in-game commands. We were fortunate enough to stay online while the admin called the Chocolate Rain, which lasted for about two to three minutes.

You'll know an admin weather event is coming when a series of system-wide messages appears on your screen. However, this doesn't guarantee you'll get Chocolate Rain. The admin may choose from other available weather systems, especially those that they haven’t triggered yet for a long time.

At the time of writing, the Grow a Garden admin seldom starts unique weather systems, as they're currently busy working on an upcoming update called Bizzy Bees. Still, try to stay online as long as you can to boost your chances of witnessing the Chocolate Rain.

How much is Chocolate Mutation’s multiplier?

The Chocolate Mutation only has a 2x multiplier, making it one of the least desirable mutations if you’re looking for more profit. However, it’s definitely an excellent addition for fruits that are already afflicted with other mutations, as their multipliers stack.

Aesthetically, it looks best for berries or fruits from shorter trees. Chocolate-colored fruits aren’t as vibrant as those with more valuable mutations like Disco, Rainbow, and Celestial, but they’re still highly desirable due to their sheer rarity.
