The Lucky Trinket is here in Pokémon GO, releasing early for the Pokémon GO Tour events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City this weekend. That means Trainers attending either of those events have special early access to this brand new, game changing, item in Pokémon GO.
The Lucky Trinket will be rolled out to all Trainers worldwide next week. So, don't worry if you feel like you are missing out. What is the Lucky Trinket in Pokémon GO?
The Lucky Trinket is a brand new item that forces the Lucky status on your next trade with a selected friend. This is essentially a fast track to the much sought after Lucky Friend status that you can earn at random when interacting with a Trainer you are Best Friends with.
Once you have applied your Lucky Trinket to a friend, the next trade you do with them no matter what will result in both traded Pokémon being lucky.
This is the first time you can force a lucky trade in Pokémon GO. That makes it a very exciting and much requested addition to the game.

A Lucky Trade in Pokémon GO guarantees a lucky trade, which gives you a lucky Pokémon after it. Lucky Pokémon are super valuable in Pokémon GO. Knowing you are going to get one after a trade removes a lot of the risk, because there is a much higher IV floor.
Lucky Pokémon have a minimum of 12/12/12 IVs. This means a much greater chance of a hundo or very high IV, and means your Pokémon will at least be usable. In addition, Lucky Pokémon require 50% of the Stardust to power them up versus a standard Pokémon. So, a strong Pokémon that is much cheaper to get to Level 50. What a win!
How do you get the Lucky Trinket?
The Lucky Trinket is obtained through the new Tour Pass. This is avaliable across the Road to Unova event, and early for Trainers at the two in-person events. Trainers who attended these events can still get the Tour Pass for the Road to Unova.
You will need to have the Tour Pass Deluxe to get a Lucky Trinket during the Road to Unova and Unova Tour Global. This is separate from the Tour Pass Trainers had access too in Los Angeles and New Taipei City.
Complete all 40 levels of the Tour Pass Deluxe, and the Lucky Trinket is yours. It does expire though, so act quickly to use it!
