Here is what December 2024 has in store in Pokémon GO.
December 2024 has looks set to be a truly amazing month in Pokémon GO. We have the return of two of the very best and most desirable Pokémon in the game, Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Mane Necrozma. We're getting new Gigantamax Pokémon, an amazing Research Day and of course the classic 2024 recap Pokémon GO Community Day.
So, what should you be looking out for in Pokémon GO in December 2024?
Pokémon GO December 2024 events
December 2024 will see a wide array of Pokémon GO events. Here are the dates for your calendars this month:

December 2024 brings several exciting Pokémon GO events. We've got the Pokémon GO Community Day double header in December, which will feature every 2024 Community Day Pokémon and have 2023 Community Day Pokémon appearing in Eggs.
Naturally, there is also a few seasonally themed events, with a two part Holiday event and then a New Years event. And of course, we have the Necrozma Fusion Raid Day and Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day to enjoy as well.
December 2024 Max Battles
December 2024 gives us more Max Battles. These will run from all month long. The following Pokémon will be in Max Battles:

This month will also see the continuation of Max Monday's, a weekly event with a featured Dynamax Pokémon.

Five Star Raids

Unusually, we seem to have a gap in the Five Star Raids Schedule with what Niantic have shared today. Stay tuned for any updates there.
In what we do know, December 2024 will debut Shiny Genesect into Pokémon GO for the first time. This will be a great chance for Trainers to get their hands on a brand new shiny Pokémon for the first time.

December 2024 Mega Raids in Pokémon GO bring back two incredibly popular Mega Pokémon, Latios and Latias. These are tough Raid Battles and will be a serious challenge for Trainers to take on. Prepare your teams and head to your nearest Community Ambassador meet up to have the best chance.
Besides that, Mega Abomasnow provides a festive Mega Pokémon to take on, and we also get a second pass at Mega Banette too.
Shadow Raids
Pokémon GO Shadow Raids in December 2024 will see Shadow Regice back in Raids.
Other highlights this month
As always, there will be a range of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours in December 2024. Notably, one of the Pokémon featured this month is Delibird with a costume! This also has 2x Transfer Candy, and is a great time to clear out your Bag.
December 3rd's Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour features Sableye, and has 2x Catch Stardust. Sableye is a Stardust Boosted Pokémon, so this will be a great chance to farm Stardust.
