Everything you need to know about Max Particles in Pokémon GO.

Max Particles are now officially avaliable in Pokémon GO. From September 4 at 12pm local time, both Max Particles and Power Spots are releasing into the game.

However, we are not yet getting Max Battles to battle Dynamax Pokémon until September 10. So, what are Max Particles, how can you get them and what do they do? Here's everything you need to know.

What do Max Particles do in Pokémon GO?

Max Particles do two things in Pokémon GO.

  • Allow you to take on Max Battles (From September 10)
  • Upgrade your Dynamax Pokémon's Max Moves

You'll need a lot of Max Particles and candy in order to level up your Max Moves in Pokémon GO. Unlocking a move costs 400 Max Particles, then you'll need 600 Max Particles to upgrade to Level Two, and 800 for Level 3. You'll need 100 candy for Level Two, and 40 XL for level three. This could be higher for more powerful Pokémon. At the moment, Trainers only have access to Dynamax Wooloo.

How can you get Max Particles?

There are a few ways to get Max Particles in Pokémon GO. You can:

  • Visit Pokémon GO Power Spots to get 120 Max Particles per visit
  • Walk 2 km to get 300 Max Particles
  • From Timed and Special Research
  • From the Pokémon GO Web Store

You can gather up to 1080 Max Particles per day in Pokémon GO. However, this requires some careful planning. You have to claim the 300 Max Particles from walking manually. That means you can visit 4 Power Spots, which will get you 480 Max Particles. Then, claim your 300 Max Particles twice for walking and you will be at 1080 Max Particles for the day. Power Spots are all over the map, so this should be easy to arrange.

In addition, you'll be able to pick up some Max Particles from the To the Max! Special Research that is releasing alongside the release of Power Spots and Max Particles. Then, if you need even more, a special bundle will be avaliable in the Pokémon GO Web Store from September 8.
