What are Black and White Kyurem’s Adventure Effects in Pokémon GO?

Ahead of the Road to Unova event and Global Unova Tour the Kyurem Adventure Effects have been officially confirmed. While these in-game abilities were leaked in the files a while back, we didn't have official and full confirmation.

But, with these Adventure Effects avaliable to Trainers from Monday, Feb 24. we now have the full run down of what they will do in-game. These look to be really powerful Adventure Effects, particularly because they also apply to auto-catchers like the PokéBall Plus+.

So, here is what each of the Kyurem Adventure Effects do in Pokémon GO.

Black Kyurem and White Kyurem have different Adventure Effects in Pokémon GO. You will only get the Adventure Effect move if the Kyurem you fuse has Glaciate.

After fusing Zekrom with Kyurem, your Black Kyurem will have the Charged Attack Freeze Shock. This is the move that has the special Adventure Effect.

Trainers can use 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy to activate Freeze Shock’s Adventure Effect, which casts electrically charged ice for 10 minutes. During this time, the Pokémon you encounter won’t be able to move, making them easier to catch. This also makes Pokémon easier to catch, including with connected accessory devices. Freeze Shock cannot be active at the same time as another Adventure Effect.

This Adventure Effect will be especially useful for Shadow Raids. Shadow Pokémon are renowned for their frequent attacks. This move will make them easier to catch, while also just making Shadow Raid events less annoying!

After fusing Reshiram with Kyurem, your White Kyurem will have the Charged Attack Ice Burn. This is the move that has the special Adventure Effect.

Trainers can use 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy to activate Ice Burn’s Adventure Effect, which activates a chilling energy for 10 minutes. During this time, the target ring in Pokémon encounters will move more slowly, making it easier to land Excellent Throws. This also makes Pokémon much easier to catch, including with connected accessory devices. Ice Burn cannot be active at the same time as another Adventure Effect.

The emphasis on "much" easier to catch is a real game-changer in Pokémon GO. We've all lost good Pokémon from Raids because of very high catch rates. Additionally, this will be a fantastic Adventure Effect for those of you chasing Glarian Birds from your Daily Adventure Incense. Those are notoriously hard to catch normally.
