Therian Forme Tornadus returns to Pokémon GO, here is how to take it down.

Tornadus, in the Therian Forme is back in Pokémon GO Raids on February 26 as part of the Road to Unova event. This will include a special Raid hour from 6 p.m until 7 p.m.

Tornadus has two Formes in Pokémon GO, the Incarnate and Therian. The Therian Forme, like for its fellow Legendaries Landorus and Thundurus, is much more powerful. The Therian Forme of Tornadus is the 18th best Flying-type in the game, whereas the Incarnate Forme languishes in the 33rd spot.

So, here is everything you need to battle and capture Therian Forme Tornadus in Pokémon GO.

Best Therian Tornadus counters in Pokémon GO:

Therian Tornadus has a weakness to Electric, Ice and Rock-type attacks. It has resistances to Bug, Fighting and Grass-type attacks, with a further double resistance to Ground-type attacks.

Here are some of the best counters to use against Therian Tornadus in Pokémon GO.

Mega Diancie
Rock Throw & Rock Slide
Mega Rayquaza
Dragon Tail & Dragon Ascent
Xurkitree
Thunder Shock & Discharge
Mega Tyranitar
Smack Down & Stone Edge
Mega Manectric
Thunder Fang & Wild Charge
Mamoswine

Therian Forme Thundurus
Volt Switch & Wildbolt Storm
Galarian Darmanitan

Dusk Mane Necrozma
Psycho Cut & Sunsteel Strike
Rhyperior

Both Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are actually the best counters for this Raid. However, as they are not rolled out to all Trainers yet we have left them off the list. Those of you who headed to an in-person Unova Tour event can get a jump start on these Raids by using either, or both, of these new fusion forms.

For the majority of us who don't have Black or White Kyurem, there are still a lot of good options to use. Galarian Darmanitan can be snagged from 7 km Eggs, and is a good counter for all the Therian Formes in Raids today so is worth the investment. Then, Mamoswine and Rhyperior are also avaliable all season long. Dusk Mane Necrozma featured in the recent Necrozma Fusion Raid Day, and Therian Forme Thundurus is in Raids today too.

Xurkitree is a really strong counter to use. That was last avaliable during Pokémon GO Fest 2024 - so not too long ago.
