Make your choice between the White Version badge or the Black Version badge during the Global Unova Tour.
As with every Tour event, the Global Unova Tour is totally focused on the Unova region which debuted through the Black and White mainline games. As a result, the Unova Tour Special Research will give all Trainers the option between the Black Version and White Version of the event.
The badge/path you choose determines certain rewards and bonuses throughout the Global Unova Tour - so it is important to choose wisely.
You can access this choice through the Special Research story titled "It's Not Over Yet", and that Research appears from 10:00 a.m. local time on Saturday, Mar. 1.
Here is everything you need to know to make the choice between Black or White during the Global Pokémon GO Unova Tour.
Do I pick the Black or White badge during the Unova Tour?
Both the Black and White path will give you some good bonuses and things to take advantage of. The major differences between them are around which of the two fusions you want to focus on. This is a bit like the choice between Diamond and Pearl during last years Sinnoh Tour - except that all bonuses focus around Kyurem.
There are also additional bonuses based around the Tour Pass Deluxe. This will only apply, obviously, if you have purchased that additional add-on.

So, here are the differences between the Black and White badge/path during the Global Unova Tour in Pokémon GO.

- Will receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards.
- All Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem in five-star raids will know the Charged Attack Glaciate.

- Will receive Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards.
- All Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem in five-star raids will know the Charged Attack Glaciate.

What is key compared to the Sinnoh Tour is that there is only one Pokémon with a special move in Raids. The Sinnoh Tour badge choice decided if you had the guaranteed move on either Palkia or Dialga. These had different Adventure Effects, so you needed to decide which you preffered.
With these, you will still be guaranteed some Kyurem with the special Charged Attack Glaciate. You need Glaciate when fusing Kyurem, to get the Adventure Effect. There are further Tour Pass Deluxe bonuses. The relevant Kyurem (Black or White based on your choice) gets extended Adventure Effect duration as you level up the Tour Pass Deluxe.
That means you can choose your favourite version, or badge. Perhaps you played one of the games growing up, or prefer one of the colours. The choice isn't that big of a deal this time around.
