What Spotlight Hours can you expect in December 2024 in Pokémon GO?
December 2024 brings a new set of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours. Once per week on a Tuesday, Trainers can encounter one specific featured Pokémon for an hour. There are also featured bonuses each week.
That makes Spotlight Hours a fantastic chance to get out and grind Pokémon GO. You can farm a lot of Stardust, XP, Candy, hunt shinies or even just grind for a specific type of one Pokémon.
Here are all the Spotlight Hours coming in December 2024.
When is the Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour?
All the December 2024 Spotlight Hours will take place in Pokémon GO on a Tuesday, between 6pm and 7pm local time. There will be a Spotlight Hour each Tuesday during December, and each one will have its own bonus.
All December 2024 Spotlight Hours in Pokémon GO
Here are all the featured Pokémon and Bonuses coming in December 2024.
December 3 - Sableye, 2x Catch Stardust
The first Spotlight Hour in December 2024 is a great start. Sableye is almost the ideal Pokémon for a Spotlight Hour. It has a useful Mega Evolution, a really cool shiny and has a boosted base level of catch stardust, 750.
Add in the Spotlight Hour Bonus of 2x Catch Stardust, and you are getting a huge 1500 Stardust per catch. Add in a Star Piece, and that is 2250 for a single catch.
The only downside is that Sableye does have a very low catch rate. You'll likely need plenty of Razz Berries and Ultra Balls to make the most of the Stardust on offer.

December 10 - Murkrow, 2x Catch XP
The Spotlight Hour on December 10 will feature Murkrow. This is once again a very good Spotlight Hour to dive into in Pokémon GO. Murkrow evolves into Honchkrow, which is a good budget Flying-type attacker.
In addition, Murkrow can be shiny in Pokémon GO. It also has a pretty consistent catch circle. That should make it easy enough to hit Excellent Throws and get as much XP as possible. This is the best December 2024 Spotlight Hour to level up in Pokémon GO.
December 17 - Slugma and Bergmite, 2x Catch Candy
The next of the December 2024 Spotlight Hours isn't as exciting in Pokémon GO as the previous two. Neither Slugma and Bergmite are particually exciting Pokémon. The Catch Candy bonus is useful if you haven't encountered many of these Pokémon before but otherwise not great.
The only notable thing to consider is that Avalugg, which evolves from Bergmite, is a pretty good Gym Defender. In a pinch it can also be a good Raid Attacker in the Ice-type category, but is outshone by the likes of Glaceon, Weavile and Galarian Darmanitan.
December 24 - Delibird with a Holiday Ribbon, 2x Transfer Candy
For Christmas Eve, we have a festive themed Spotlight Hour to enjoy. We are getting Delibird wearing a special Holiday Ribbon. Most crucially, this costumed Pokémon can be shiny. While the shiny odds won't be boosted, this is still your best chance to find a shiny version of this costumed Pokémon.
Additionally, 2x Transfer Candy is a great bonus in Pokémon GO. This provides Trainers a fantastic opportunity to clear out their storage. In particular, you can Transfer your Legendary Pokémon during this Spotlight Hour to get additional Candy.
December 31 - Togetic, 2x Evolution XP
Finally to wrap up the December 2024 Spotlight Hours, and the year, in Pokémon GO is a Togetic Spotlight Hour. Like the start of the month, this is once again a great chance to grind some Stardust. Even though there is no boosted Stardust bonus, Togetic is a base 300 Stardust per catch. That can be 450 with a Star Piece, and is still more than 2x Stardust on almost any other Pokémon.
Additionally, Togekiss is a fantastic budget Pokémon for both Raids and PvP. Togetic can also be shiny.
