Gather your Flying-types!

Pheromosa is back in Pokémon GO Raids. This Bug-type Ultra Beast will feature at Pokémon GO Fest Madrid where it will make its shiny debut.

Pheromosa will also then be available at GO Fest Global on Saturday for all trainers to try and get the Shiny version.

Let’s be real, Pheromosa is a pretty awful Pokémon in Pokémon GO. However, with it being so easy to take down, you can easily farm XP and other Raid rewards (like Rare Candy!) by taking down a bunch of these in succession on your own or with a couple of friends.

Best Pheromosa counters in Pokémon GO:

Pheromosa has a 2x weakness to Flying-types. It also has a single weakness to Fairy, Fire and Psychic-type Pokémon.

The 2x weakness to Flying-types means that Mega Rayquaza is the best choice for this Raid.

Mega Rayquaza
Air Slash & Dragon Ascent
Yveltal
Gust & Oblivion Wing
Incarnate Forme Enamorus
Fairy Wind & Fly
Mega Pidgeot
Gust & Brave Bird
Moltres
Wing Attack & Sky Attack
Therian Forme Enamorus
Fairy Wind & Fly
Staraptor
Gust & Fly
Honchkrow
Peck & Sky Attack
Braviary
Air Slash & Fly
Therian Forme Tornadus
Gust & Bleakwind Storm
Hisuian Braviary
Air Slash & Fly
Zapdos
Thunder Shock & Drill Peck

Thanks to Pheromosa having a double weakness to Flying-type Pokémon gathering a strong team to battle this Pokémon GO raid isn't too difficult. Pokémon like Staraptor and Honchkrow are very common, and shouldn't be any issue to track down.

Mega Rayquaza is by far and away the best choice for this Raid. Not only is this Pokémon the single most powerful Pokémon in the game, but it has the super strong Flying-type move Dragon Ascent. If you have a good Mega (or even non Mega) Rayquaza with Dragon Ascent, there is no better choice to take on Pheromosa.

Helpfully, Mega Rayquaza recently returned in Pokémon GO. That means all Trainers should (hopefully!) have at least one to use.

Can Pheromosa be shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes, Pheromosa can be Shiny in Pokémon GO. The chance of getting Shiny Pheromosa from a Raid is about 1 in 20.
