Turn your Pancham into a Fighting/Dark gigachad!
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you can’t just evolve Pancham by leveling up or receiving one through trade. You’ll need to meet a particular requirement first before you can evolve it into a Pangoro.
Apart from being the menace who stole your suitcase upon your arrival in Lumiose City, Pancham is also the first Pokémon that you and your chosen starter fought in the game.
If you want to have your own Pancham, you can capture one in Wild Zone 3, although its spawn rate is quite rare compared to the other wild Pokémon in the area.
Once you get a Pancham, here’s what you should do to make it become a Pangoro.
Evolving Panchan into Pangoro in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
To evolve your Pancham, you must fulfill the following conditions first:
- Level it up to 32.
- Add any Dark-type Pokémon in your party.
Once you have a level 32 Pancham and a Dark-type Pokémon in your party, you’ll see the upward arrow sign for Pancham, implying that you can now evolve it.

There are a bunch of Dark-type Pokémon that you can choose from to add to your party, including Absol, Houndour, Houndoom, Sableye, or Carvanha.
Note: Trainers in Legends: Z-A can now decide when to evolve their Pokémon by selecting the desired Pokémon in the menu.

Best moveset for Pangoro in Legends: Z-A
Pangoro’s most dominant stat is Attack, which makes it an ideal Physical sweeper. What’s even more interesting is that it can perform moves from many other types, apart from Fighting- and Dark-type moves.
But for those looking for an ideal Pangoro moveset in Legends: Z-A, consider learning these attacks for your panda Pokémon:
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Thunder Punch
These moves make Pangoro a highly versatile damage dealer that can fight well even against Psychic and Flying types. On the flip side, avoid using your Pangoro against Fairy types, as both of its types are weak to it.
