Necrozma is arriving with a bang into Pokémon GO.

Necrozma is finally making its Pokémon GO debut. First at the three in person Pokémon GO Fest events, and then worldwide during GO Fest Global on July 13-14.

Debuting alongside Necrozma is its two Fusion Formes, Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings. These will use the Shiny status, Level and IV's of Necrozma when you fuse then. That means that getting a good Necrozma, as well as lots of Necrozma Candy is important. These Fusion Pokémon are very powerful, so make sure you're able to grab them.

Necrozma is avaliable to ALL trainers via remote raids, even if you get invited from an in person event. However, the Shiny version is only avaliable to ticket holders at the events.

With Necrozma set to really shake up Pokémon GO, here is everything you need to know to take them on in Raids.

Best Necrozma counters in Pokémon GO:

Necrozma has a weakness to Dark, Bug and Ghost-types. It has just two resistances, to Fighting and Psychic-types. The Fusion formes of this Pokémon are much better, as they get different typings.

Here are the best Pokémon to counter Necrozma's weaknesses:

Mega Tyranitar
Bite & Brutal Swing
Mega Gengar
Lick & Shadow Ball
Mega Banette
Shadow Claw & Shadow Ball
Mega Rayquaza
Dragon Tail & Dragon Ascent
Mega Houndoom
Snarl & Foul Play
Shadow Mewtwo
Psycho Cut & Shadow Ball
Mega Gyarados
Bite & Crunch
Hydreigon
Bite & Brutal Swing
Blacephalon
Astonish & Shadow Ball
Darkrai
Snarl & Shadow Ball
Mega Absol
Snarl & Dark Pulse
Mega Heracross
Struggle Bug & Megahorn

To take on Necrozma in Pokémon GO, there are some pretty good options. Powerful Mega Pokémon like Mega Tyranitar will absolutely destroy this Raid. Some of the harder to obtain Pokémon on this list have been in the game recently too.

Blacephalon, Shadow Mewtwo, Mega Heracross and Mega Gyrados have all featured in the game in recent months and are all good choices. Additionally, we saw Pokémon like Darkrai feature in February's Sinnoh Tour.

If you're targeting GO Fest Global, and don't yet have Mega Rayquaza, that Pokémon will be back soon too. Mega Rayquaza features in Elite Raids on June 29.

Mega Evolutions to get you more Necrozma candy in Pokémon GO

Mega Evolutions can help you get more candy and XL candy with every catch. Having a mega level 3 active that boosts candy for Psychic-types will give you an extra 2 candy per catch, as well as a 25% bonus to your XL candy chance.

Here are the Pokémon you can Mega Evolve to get more Necrozma Candy in Pokémon GO:

  • Latios
  • Latias
  • Alakazam
  • Rayquaza
  • Medicham
  • Gardevoir
  • Slowbro

Mega Rayquaza is by far the best choice here. Second would be a Mega Alakazam with Shadow Ball as it's Charged Attack. Both of these options would be good Necrozma counters as well as getting you extra Candy and Candy XL after the raid.

How many trainers do I need to beat Necrozma in Pokémon GO?

Necrozma is a manageable Pokémon to take down in Pokémon GO. While its two Fusion Formes are amongst the strongest Pokémon in the game, Necrozma itself is not quite so powerful.

You will need at least three Trainers to take down Necrozma in a Raid If you're in such a small group, make sure you are also using Party Power.

For lower level players, aim for about five or more Trainers to make sure you can win this Raid comfortably. Eight or more and this Raid should be very easy.

What is the Necrozma Pokémon GO 100% IV?

Getting any Pokémon in Pokémon GO with a perfect 100% IV is always a major flex. However, for Necrozma it is more important than ever. The Fusion forms will use Necrozma's IV's, so if you want perfect Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma's, you'll need multiple 100% IV's in your storage.

So, here are the CP values to keep an eye out after the Raid:

  • 2104 CP
  • 2630 CP

Weather Effects:
