Take on Mega Garchomp in Pokémon GO with our Raid Guide.

Mega Garchomp is back in Pokémon GO Mega Raids until Mar. 4. This powerful Dragon and Ground-type Mega Pokémon is a must have for your collection.

We've not seen Mega Garchomp in Pokémon GO Raids for some time. It last appeared a year ago, having debuted back in 2023.

That means that for newer Trainers, or those returning after a long break, might not have any Mega Garchomp energy yet. We don't know when this Pokémon will return next, so make sure to take on some of these Raids while you can.

Best Mega Garchomp counters in Pokémon GO:

Mega Garchomp has a weakness to Dragon and Fairy-type attacks, and a double weakness to Ice-type attacks.

That makes Ice-type Pokémon very strong for this Raid.

Most of the best counters for Mega Garchomp are Ice-type Pokémon or strong Dragon-type Mega Pokémon. Be careful when using Dragon-types, even though they will counter Mega Garchomp they are also weak to its Dragon-type moves as well.

Lots of the best Ice-type Pokémon are readily avaliable in Pokémon GO. Articuno was recently in Ice-type battles, and Mamoswine, Glaceon and Cetitan are all very accessible. Trainers may even have a Baxcalibur, which you can get from Frigibax that is currently in 10 km Eggs.

If you want to use Mega Gardevoir, do note that its best Charged Attack is Triple Axel. Make sure to change this before battling in the Raid.
