Everything you need to take on Lunala in Pokémon GO.
Lunala is coming to Pokémon GO Raids for the first time ever, following Solgaleo's debut earlier this month. This is a huge moment for Pokémon GO, with these Pokémon never being avaliable directly before outside of GO Fest research and evolving Cosmog. Lunala will be avaliable from July 22 to July 28.
Lunala is strong in PvP and can also be fused with Necrozma to form Dawn Wings Necrozma, which is one of the very best Pokémon in the game.
These are absolutely unmissable Raids, so make sure to get out there and do as many Lunala as you can while it is in rotation.
Best Lunala counters in Pokémon GO:
Lunala has a weakness to two types of attack in Pokémon GO, Dark-type and Ghost-type. It has a triple resistance to Fighting-type attacks, a double resistance to Normal-type attacks and a standard resistance to Poison and Psychic-type attacks.
Here are the best Pokémon to use to counter Lunala in Pokémon GO.

There is a good mix of Mega, Legendary and budget options to battle Lunala in Pokémon GO. Mega Tyranitar is the best option to use, dealing huge damage. Standard Tyranitar is also a very strong option, so use as many of these Pokémon as you can.
Darkrai and Hydregion are two of the best other non-mega options, both doing a lot of damage to Lunala. What is nice is that Hydregion is a semi-common wild spawn via Deino, which means that Trainers could have this Pokémon and the candy to power it up without having to spend a lot of money on Raids.
Another great budget option is Incineroar which was avaliable via Litten Community Day. Those Trainers who played that event should have the candy needed.
Can Lunala be shiny in Pokémon GO?
