Take on Kyogre with our Raid Guide.

Kyogre is back in Pokémon GO raids to kick off Max Out. The powerful Water-type Pokémon will be in Raids from September 3 until September 14. This is one of the best Pokémon in the entire game, with an even better Primal form. Do NOT miss these Raids.

Perhaps the most powerful aspects of Kyogre is that its Primal form boosts candy, XL candy and awards additional XP for catching three different types of Pokémon. Water, Electric and Bug. Most Mega forms only cover one or two typings. Get a Kyogre, and get it to Mega Level 3 ASAP!

Here is everything you need to know to take on Kyogre in Pokémon GO.

Best Kyogre counters in Pokémon GO:

Kyogre has a weakness to Electric and Grass-types. It has a resistance to Fire, Ice, Steel and Water-type attacks.

This season, some Raid battle damage has been changed. So, the best Kyogre counters have changed a bit from previous seasons.

Mega Sceptile
Fury Cutter & Frenzy Plant
Kartana
Razor Leaf & Leaf Blade
Mega Rayquaza
Dragon Tail & Drason Ascent
Shadow Raikou
Thunder Shock & Wild Charge
Xurkitree
Thunder Shock & Discharge
Zekrom
Charge Beam & Fusion Bolt
Mega Venusaur
Vine Whip & Frenzy Plant
Zarude
Vine Whip & Power Whip
Meowscarada
Leafage & Grass Knot
Decidueye
Leafage & Frenzy Plant
Magnezone

Luxray

Some of the Pokémon here are standard Grass and Electric-type Raid Attackers. Mega Sceptile, Kartana, Xurkitree and Zekrom are all Pokémon that Trainers should have in their collection.

However, this season some new Pokémon have risen in the rankings. Pokémon like Meowscarada, Decidueye, Luxray and Magnezone are all now VERY useful Pokémon. The bonus, none of them are legendaries and all should be accessible and easy to power up. Great news! You will hopefully be able to build a strong team to take on Kyogre in Pokémon GO even if you don't have legendary Pokémon.
