Is the Deluxe Tour pass worth paying for in Pokémon GO?

The Unova Tour brings a Tour Pass to the game, the Pokémon GO answer to the Battle Pass that many games have adopted over the last few years. All Trainers have access to the Tour Pass, with an optional paid Tour Pass Deluxe to upgrade your experience across the week.

These two Tour Passes run side by side. This means that if you choose to get the Tour Pass Deluxe, you still have access to the standard Tour Pass too - doubling your rewards.

But, as Pokémon GO goes, the Tour Pass Deluxe is pretty expensive for an in-game purchase. So, is the Tour Pass Deluxe worth the money and should you be spending on it or saving your money for other things during the Unova Tour week?

Here is everything you need to know to decide if the Tour Pass Deluxe is for you in Pokémon GO.

Should I get the Tour Pass Deluxe in Pokémon GO?

There are two paid versions of the Tour Pass Deluxe. They have the same rewards, but one starts with a head start on levels. The options are:

  • Deluxe Tour Pass - $14.99
  • Deluxe Tour Pass + 10 Levels - $19.99

The only difference for the extra $5 is that you get 10 Levels automatically unlocked. You can get the levels yourself with Tour Points, but if you are really busy this could be worthwhile.

The best rewards and improvements from the Deluxe Tour Pass include the following:

  • A Victini encounter
  • Event-themed Pokémon, like the Unova Starters
  • An event-themed Avatar Item
  • Additional Candy and Candy XL for the featured Legendaries
  • Additional encounters with Sandile, Mienfoo, Pawniard and Vullaby
  • Five times the Stardust

So, is it worth it?

If you are planning to play a lot of the Road to Unova and the Unova Tour this week and weekend, the Tour Pass Deluxe is worth it if you can afford it. The Lucky Trinket is a hugely powerful item. Additonally, the extra candy and candy XL for Kyurem, as well as Reshiram and Zekrom is also really helpful. Ultimately, that means you can do less Raids to Level 50 your Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. These powerful fusions are both very good in Pokémon GO and you ideally want both.
