This special costumed Pikachu is a regional-exclusive in Pokémon GO.

The Festival of Colors event introduces a brand new Pikachu into Pokémon GO. However, it will cause a bit of a headache for avid costumed Pikachu collectors, as it will not be avaliable worldwide. The brand new kurta wearing Pikachu is only directly avaliable for Pokémon GO Trainers in India.

However, that does not mean you will have to accept a gaping hole in your Pikachu collection. You can still get your hands on this Pokémon, which can also be shiny, anywhere in the world. There aren't that many ways to do so, and time is limited.

That is why we've gathered all the ways to get the brand new kurta wearing Pikachu in Pokémon GO.

All ways to get Pikachu wearing a kurta in Pokémon GO

If you live in India, Pikachu wearing a kurta will appear in One-Star Raids during the Festival of Colors event in Pokémon GO. There is also a branching Timed Research, and Trainers get one additional Candy for catching Pokémon in raids. This event runs from Thursday, March 13, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 17, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

But, if you are a Trainer outside India, then you can still take part in these raids with a Remote Raid Pass. If you know someone in India, now would be a great time to message them!

That said - most of us won't know someone in that region directly. Luckily you can use platforms like Leek Duck's Raid Now in order to join these Raids remotely. Trainers have also been sharing their Friend Codes on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) ready for the event to start.

Otherwise, the only other way to get this costumed Pikachu for now will be Trade. Events like the upcoming Safari Zone or Pokémon GO Fest 2025 will be a chance to meet Trainers with this Pikachu in their collection.
