How to fuse Kyurem with Zekrom or Reshiram in Pokémon GO

Black and White Kyurem have finally released in Pokémon GO, and will be avaliable worldwide on Mar. 1 and 2 for the Global Unova Tour. These are our second fusions in Pokémon GO, following the Necrozma fusion forms last year. The process to fuse Kyurem with either Zekrom or Reshiram in Pokémon GO is similar, but not quite the same as Necrozma.

Here is everything you need to know before you fuse Kyurem in Pokémon GO.

There are a few things you will need in order to fuse Kyurem in Pokémon GO. The first, and most obvious is to actually have Kyurem, and either Reshiram or Zekrom.

Unlike Necrozma, not all Kyurem has been in Pokémon GO before. Any Kyurem you have, no matter when you caught it, can now fuse in game.

You will then need the required amount of candy and fusion energy, depending on which fusion you need. The costs are as follows.

To fuse Kyurem with Reshiram:

To fuse Kyurem with Zekrom:

However, when you do fuse Kyurem with Reshiram or Zekrom in Pokémon GO, your Black or White Kyurem will not get the special Adventure Effect move unless your Kyurem has a specific move when fused. This is different to last years Necrozma fusion.

This all important move move is Glaciate. Thankfully, this isn't a new move, but it is a "legacy move" which means it is locked behind an Elite TM if your Kyurem doesn't know it already. Kyurem caught during the GO Tour can have Glaciate. If you have a good IV Kyurem without Glaciate, it is absolutely worth an Elite TM.

For both the shiny status and IV's, Black and White Kyurem will take from Kyurem, not Reshiram or Zekrom. That means you should not fuse high IV or shiny Reshiram and Zekrom with Kyurem in Pokémon GO, as this is a waste.

Instead, any shiny Kyurem fused will result in a Shiny Black or White Kyurem in Pokémon GO. The same applies to IV's, important if you want a hundo!
