How to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna in Pokémon GO

With Teddiursa in November 19th's Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour, Trainers will want to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna if they are lucky enough to get a good IV or Shiny Teddiursa. However, evolving Ursaring into Ursaluna isn't as simple as most evolutions in the game. You will need the stars to (almost literally!) align in your favour to be able to complete this evolution.

If you're trying to evolve Ursaring, you're probably being met with the following error message.

Unfortunately, Ursaring can only evolve when there is a full moon. That isn't an in-game mechanic or some sort of special trick you can by-pass. You can only get your hands on Ursaluna in Pokémon GO when their is a full moon in real life.

That means you will need to mark your calendars for specific dates in order to evolve any Ursaring you caught today.

Of course, you also need 100 Teddiursa candy to make the evolution.

The next full moon is on December 15, known as the Cold Moon. This will be the next chance you have to evolve any Ursaring into Ursaluna in Pokémon GO.

That said, there are sometimes other windows of opportunity to get Ursaluna. Sometimes as part of event bonuses Niantic allow players to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna in Pokémon GO. You will need to keep your eye on event details whenever a new event is announced to check if this is the case.

Obviously, events that feature Teddiursa or Ursaring are the most likely to feature a bonus like this. Niantic don't tend to just throw it out randomly if it does not fit with the event in question.

For November 19's Teddiursa and Combee Spotlight Hour, there is no bonus to allow you to evolve Ursaring.
