Kubfu is debuting into Pokémon GO, but how do you get it?

Kubfu, the Wushu Pokémon is making its Pokémon GO debut during the Might and Mastery event. Kubfu is a special Legendary Pokémon, with two different evolutions.

The entirety of the latest Pokémon GO season, Might & Mastery, is focused around Kubfu. Trainers will learn and discover more about this Pokémon as the season goes on.

But, how do you get your hands on Kubfu, and how many Kubfu will you be able to have in Pokémon GO?

How to get Kubfu in Pokémon GO

For those of you who have played Pokémon GO for a long time, getting Kubfu will be very similar to when Cosmog released into Pokémon GO.

You won't be able to find Kubfu in the wild, in Eggs or in Raids. Instead, Kubfu will be made avaliable free to all Trainers via the Might and Mastery Special Research. This Special Research is avaliable from March 5 at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can claim this all the way until 9:59 a.m. on June 3.

However, that isn't the only Research that will let you get Kubfu. Again just like Cosmog, there will also be a Paid Special Research. This will allow Trainers to get a second Kubfu. It is priced at $8, and will include a few other rewards as well as a Kubfu encounter.

This is a Special Research, not a Timed one so it does not expire. You can only purchase this before March 10 at 8:00 p.m. local time. So, you cannot wait to see your free Kubfu's IVs before picking up the paid Special Research.

Are there any other methods?

If we use Cosmog as an example, we may get other chances to encounter Kubfu in the future. However, this will also be through Special Research, probably paid. It could be that a future GO Fest or other event includes a Kubfu for ticket holders. Or, there may be another paid Special Research down the line.

That said, these won't be any time soon. If you are really excited for Kubfu, these are the only two routes to get your hands on it for now.
