Get ready to get Applin in Pokémon GO.
The Sweet Discoveries event is kicking off around the world in Pokémon GO. This event debuts Applin into Pokémon GO for the first time. The event runs from Thursday, April 24, 2025 until Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Like usual, it starts at 10:00 a.m. local time wherever you are in the world on the 24th.
As Pokémon GO players well know, the debuts of much anticipated Pokémon isn't always as simple as opening your game and seeing a brand new Pokémon on the map. We often have to hatch Eggs, complete Raids or chasing Field Research tasks in order to track the debuting Pokémon down.
However, for Applin, we have an all new mechanic coming to the game. So, here is everything you need to know to track down Applin in Pokémon GO.

Getting Applin in Pokémon GO explained
If you want to get your hands on Applin, you'll need to go on a hunt. You might remember the 2025 April Fools Day event, and that mechanic is returning. From the start of the event, you will start to see Apples on the map in Pokémon GO.
These are where you can encounter Applin in Pokémon GO. Not every Apple will have Applin inside, but you might find one "if you're lucky." That means that going around the map and interacting with as many of these Apples is the best way to keep hunting down Apples. You'll also need to hunt down these Applies in order to actually evolve Applin to Flapple or Appletun in Pokémon GO too, so this is a good use of your time for a few reasons!
You can also get additional, and hunt free, Applin encounters from the events Paid Timed Research. This is priced at $1.99, and includes some extra encounters as well as Two Mossy Lure Modules. These encounters, like always, have a raised IV floor so this could be a good way to boost your chances of getting a hundo Applin.
