Get ready for Dynamax Max Battles in Pokémon GO.

Dynamax Max Battles are coming to Pokémon from September 10. These battles will be how Trainers can encounter Dynamax Pokémon. We now have confirmed information about how these battles will work. So, here is everything you need to know about how Dynamax Max Battles will work when they release into the game.

Pokémon GO Dynamax Max Battles explained

Dynamax Max Battles will start appearing in Power Spots from September 10. These spots will appear all over the map at various locations. These locations aren't fixed, so you'll need to keep your eye out for where they are at any given moment.

You'll need to visit these to get your hands on Max Particles. These Particles will be the equivalent to Raid Passes. To take on any Dynamax Max Battles in Pokémon GO, you will need at least 250 Max Particles. The Max Particle requirement will change  depending on the power of the Power Spot Boss.

However, Max Particles are only used up when you successfully take down the boss so don't be afraid to give it a go.

In addition, you'll need at least one Dynamax Pokémon in your battle party to take on Max Battles at a Power Spot. Thankfully, you can get a Dynamax Wooloo from the To the Max! Special Research to kick off your collection. You don't have to take on these battles alone either. You can team up with up to four Trainers.

How to win a Max Battle in Pokémon GO

In a Max Battle, tap the screen to use Fast Attacks, and build up energy to use Charged Attacks as usual. Attacking will also fill up the meter at the top of the screen. Once the meter is full, your Pokémon will Dynamax for 3 turns. Just like in Raid Battles, you can swipe to dodge attacks from the opposing Power Spot Boss. A prompt will appear over your Pokémon if the boss is targeting you, so be ready to dodge.

You also need to keep an eye out for energy icons on the battlefield. Swipe to collect them and fill up your meter even faster. Unlike Raid Battles, you cannot re-enter the battle if your Pokémon feint. If all of your Pokémon faint while battling a three-star or higher Power Spot Boss you can't rejoin, but you can cheer for your teammates so that their meters fill faster.

How can you get your rewards after a Dynamax Max Battle?

Once you've won your Pokémon GO Dynamax Max Battle you can place one of the Pokémon from your battle party at that Power Spot to earn Candy and give future Trainers a damage bonus! The rewards you earn from the Battle are only awarded upon your Pokémon’s return from the Power Spot. This happens either after they assist in enough Max Battles or after a Power Spot closes.

The more Pokémon that are placed at the Power Spot, the bigger the attack bonus for other Trainers taking on the Power Spot Boss. Plus, more Pokémon placed at the Power Spot may also increase the chances of a wild encounter around the Power Spot. You can only station a limited number of Pokémon at Power Spots, and each Power Spot can contain a limited amount of Pokémon total from different Trainers.

Of course, you can also encounter the Power Spot Boss and try to catch it after winning your Dynamax Max Battle too.
