Get set to take on Dawn Wings Necrozma during Pokémon GO Fest: Global.
Pokémon GO Fest: Global is bringing Dawn Wings Necrozma into Raids on Sunday, July 14. This will be a chance to get your hands on both a Necrozma, and the Lunar Fusion Energy you need to fuse it with Lunala.
Dawn Wings Necrozma, like its Dusk Mane counterpart, is a really strong Pokémon. It has its signature move Moongeist Beam, which comes with a special Adventure Effect. Additionally, that move makes it one of the most powerful Pokémon in the entire game. Don't miss out on getting as much Lunar Fusion Energy as possible this Sunday.
Both types of Necrozma fusions will be in Raids, if you're looking for Dusk Mane Necrozma, see our other Pokémon GO Raid guide below.
Best Dawn Wings Necrozma counters in Pokémon GO:
Dawn Wings Necrozma has two double weaknesses, these are to Dark and Ghost-types. In terms of resistances, Dawn Wings Necrozma has a very rare TRIPLE resistance, to Fighting-types. It has a double resistance to Normal-types, and a single resistance to Poison and Psychic-types.
Naturally, with two double weaknesses, you will want to focus on building a team of Dark and Ghost-type Pokémon to take on Dawn Wings Necrozma in Pokémon GO. Here are the best ones to use:
Mega Tyranitar Bite & Brutal Swing | Mega Gengar Lick & Shadow Ball | Dawn Wings Necrozma Shadow Claw & Moongeist Beam | Mega Banette Shadow Claw & Shadow Ball | Mega Houndoom Snarl & Foul Play | Mewtwo (or Shadow) Psycho Cut & Shadow Ball | Hydregion Bite & Brutal Swing | Mega Gyarados Bite & Crunch | Blacephalon Astonish & Shadow Ball | Mega Absol Snarl & Dark Pulse | Darkrai Snarl & Shadow Ball | Chandelure Hex & Shadow Ball |
It is no surprise to see some of the most powerful Ghost or Dark-type Pokémon, like Mega Tyranitar and Mega Gengar at the top of this list.
If you've been to one of the in person Pokémon GO Fest events and already have a Dawn Wings Necrozma, that is also a good counter. Just be aware that will have the same 2x weakness to Ghost-type attacks which could be a little bit of an issue if the Raid Pokémon is using a Ghost-type Charged Attack.
Shadow Mewtwo, which featured in a Shadow Raid Weekend back in March, is a good choice if you have given it Shadow Ball. This move requires an Elite TM, so bare that in mind. It is a worthwhile move to have for things like PvP though.
Some evolutions of more common spawns, like Chandelure and Hydregion, are also good counters to Dawn Wings Necrozma. That means even Trainers who don't do a lot of Raids should be able to get a good team together.
