The next Gigantamax battle in Pokémon GO is here, get set to take on Gigantamax Toxtricity.

Gigantamax Raids arrived with a bang into Pokémon GO earlier this season. We've seen the debuts of Gigantamax Gengar, Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur. Now, the Pokémon GO Wild Area event will debut Gigantamax Toxtricity into the game.

Gigantamax Toxtricity will be in Gigantamax Max Battles during both days (November 23 and 24) of Pokémon GO Wild Area.

The issue is, Gigantamax Max battles are incredibly hard to take down. Gigantamax Pokémon are very powerful, and you will need a lot of help to win one of these Max Battles. So, you'll want to be prepared.

Here's everything you need to know before you battle Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokémon GO!

How many trainers do I need to beat Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokémon GO?

Of all the Gigantamax Pokémon we've seen in the game so far, Gigantamax Toxtricity should be the easiest to take down. Early reports from Trainers who took on this Pokémon in Japan say that you can beat Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokémon GO with 12 Trainers. Some have even managed it with less.

However, this number is hugely dependent on who those 12 Trainers are. If you have Trainers bringing Pokémon with levelled up Max Moves, especially Shield and Spirit, the Raid is a lot easier than if people are throwing ineffective Pokémon into battle. Try and coordinate with your fellow Trainers.

Gigantamax Toxtricity weakness and best counters

Gigantamax Toxtricity has a weakness to Psychic-type attacks, and a double weakness to Ground-type attacks.

That double weakness is incredibly important and something you and your fellow Trainers must seek to exploit. One of the hardest things about Gigantamax Battles so far has been the limited amount of options avaliable. However, Niantic have made sure we are ready for this battle. Dynamax Drilbur has been everywhere during the past week and a bit, and is also spawning during GO Wild Area. You need Dynamax Excadrill to take on Gigantamax Toxtricity.

As a result, the best Gigantamax Toxtricity counters are:

  • Dynamax Excadrill
  • Dynamax Metagross
  • Gigantamax Gengar

Ideally you want two Excadrill's and then maybe a Metagross too. Even better honestly is an entire team of Dynamax Excadrill. With these, beating Gigantamax Toxtricity won't be too difficult in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO Gigantamax Max Battle tips

You absolutely need to be coordinated to win this Gigantamax Toxtricity Battle in Pokémon GO. Get onto Campfire, see if you have a local Community Ambassador or any other Trainers nearby. Then, in battle, you'll need to keep coordinated too. Have some Trainers use shields and healing each turn, and others attack. Ideally you want one shield, one healer and two attackers per group of four.

You should also save up your Max Particles on Friday, to have as many as possible. The collection limit is being raised across the event.

Additionally, make sure you have good counters (if possible) and also reserve your best Pokémon for the end of the Raid. The Max Meter will charge faster at the end of the Battle. This is because once all your Pokémon are knocked out, you can stay involved in the Raid by cheering. Cheering helps the Max Meter charge faster. So, if you don't have the best counters you can still contribute to your team's success.

If you have good Dynamax Pokémon in Power Spots, you might want to consider recalling them.

Good luck taking on Gigantamax Toxtricity in Pokémon GO, Trainer. Stay tuned to esports.gg for the latest esports news and more Pokémon GO guides.
