Keep an eye out for these cards the next time you open a Celestial Guardians pack.

Here's a list of the best cards that you'll definitely want to pull from the latest Pokémon TCG Pocket set, Celestial Guardians.

Looks like Pokémon TCG Pocket continues to shy away from featuring a Gen 2 set with the release of Celestial Guardians, which features the main legendaries of Gen 7, Solgaleo and Lunala.

In Celestial Guardians, players can regain their memories of Alola, as the game finally introduces an array of new Pokémon cards, including the Alolan starters, the Alolan regional forms, and the well-revered Tapus.

Celestial Guardians also has a subset containing the Shiny versions of Kanto Pokémon, which resemble some of the cards in Genetic Apex.

10 best cards in the Celestial Guardians set

The following cards are ranked based on their rarity and artwork, making them highly sought-after by many players who open packs regularly.

10. All One Star Rare Tapus

It’s hard to pick a clear winner among these three cards in terms of playability and artwork, so we’ve grouped them together as a single entry. As you see, their stunning cave painting-style artwork makes you want to collect them all and display them in the same binder.

Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Bulu are a group of Pokémon that live on Alola’s four major islands. The people on the archipelago recognize them as the region’s guardian deities, offering prayers to them and building shrines in their honor.

9. Drampa (One-Star Rare)

This Drampa card is arguably one of the coolest one-star artworks in the entire set so far. The way it was drawn certainly fits Drampa’s features as a Pokémon heavily inspired by the dragons of East Asian mythology.

Battle-wise, it’s not as impressive as other Dragon-type Pokémon cards we’ve seen in the game, but it might be a good addition for cheese decks, especially those decks that utilize Bench of splash damage.

8. Alolan Raichu ex (Two-Star Rainbow Rare)

Looking at this card’s artwork, there’s no doubt that it will fetch a high market price if it’s printed as part of a physical Pokémon TCG set. Also, it’s basically like an Alakazam, but way faster for being a Stage 1 card.

Celestial Guardians finally gives the Raichu species the recognition it deserves, especially since Pikachu has been getting more attention lately, with multiple printings of the basic Lightning-type Pokémon already appearing since the Genetic Apex set.

7. Wishiwashi ex (Two-Star Rainbow Rare)

Unity is strength, indeed, as in the case of a Wishiwashi calling its friends to form a monstrosity that can win games with its heavy damage move that matches Mewtwo ex’s Psydrive.

Wishiwashi ex features the small fry Pokémon’s School Form, and as a Basic Pokémon that only requires its other copies to become online, this card offers a simple and easy idea for a fast Water-type deck build.

6. Decidueye ex (Two-Star Rainbow Rare)

If you have already completed all the Solo battles for the Celestial Guardians set, you’ll definitely remember how strong and OP this card is, especially with all the new Leaf Cape, which further amplifies its HP to a whopping 200.

With its artwork and gameplay mechanics, we can call this card the ultimate sniper Pokémon, since it can counter other decks that rely on constant switching by using its Pierce the Pain move.

5. All Kanto Shiny Mons

Can’t get enough Shiny Pokémon from the Shining Revelry set? You can have some more if you’re lucky enough to pull any of the shiny Kanto Pokémon cards in Celestial Guardians.

Although we don’t have any idea why the newest set reintroduced another bunch of Kanto Pokémon, having some Shiny variants of Gen 1 mons is a good bargain if you can’t get any Immersive Rares so far.

4. Lillie (Immersive Rare)

For the first time, Trainer cards took center stage in a Pokémon TCG Pocket set, with this Lillie card becoming one of the first Trainer cards to be featured as an Immersive Rare, and a well-illustrated one at that.

In its default view, the card seems to only feature Lillie, but playing its immersive view reveals other prominent characters in the Alolan saga, such as Hau, Kiawe, Lana, and Professor Kukui.

3. Guzma (Immersive Rare)

In contrast to Lillie, the bad guys in Alola also made their appearance in this Immersive Rare card, featuring the Team Skull Boss, Guzma, together with his lackeys and his signature Pokémon, Golisopod.

Its anti-Pokémon tool mechanic makes Guzma a good counter against almost any meta decks today, as we see more Pokémon tools becoming vital pieces in Solo and Versus battles.

2. Solgaleo ex (Crown Rare)

This list won’t be complete without mentioning the rarest cards in the game, the Crown Rares. For the Celestial Guardians set, it’s none other than the two mascot Pokémon of Alola, Solgaleo and Lunala.

Celestial Guardian’s Solgaleo ex is a reliable Metal-type Pokémon that can take over the Active spot the moment it gets two Metal-type Energies. However, it seems like Solgaleo ex lacks some impactful moves or abilities, unlike the next entry, which is by far the rarest and best card anyone could pull from the set.

1. Lunala ex (Crown Rare)

Lunala ex’s Psychic connect makes it highly compatible with various Psychic types in the game, particularly Giratina ex. All you have to do is play Lunala ex and Giratina ex and use them to power up another Pokémon with better offensive capabilities, like, let’s say, Mewtwo ex or Rayquaza ex.

As a Crown Rare card, this copy of Lunala ex is certainly a big catch for anyone, given the extremely low chances of pulling gold cards from any Pokémon TCG Pocket set nowadays. Right now, many regular players consider this card a top-tier pull, like the other gold cards that came before it.
