Space-Time Smackdown is the latest expansion pack at the time of writing. And its inclusion has some players thinking the Genetic Apex packs are suddenly gone. That's not the case, as you can open older expansion packs in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Was Genetic Apex removed from Pokémon TCG Pocket?
With the addition of Space-Time Smackdown, Genetic Apex was booted from the featured packs area. The new expansion sits alongside Mythical Island, with Mew on the front of the pack. This has some players believing Genetic Apex was simply taken out of the game without warning.
They're rather upset, actually. Thankfully, that's new true. No packs were removed from Pokémon TCG Pocket. Genetic Apex is just not a featured set any longer. Expect more sets to be pushed to the background like that in the future, but you can in fact still open them to complete your collection.

If you opened up Pokémon TCG Pocket to find a new expansion, with an older pack you were hoping to open gone, don't worry. It is still there, you just have to look for it.
Here's how you can find them and open those older Pokémon TCG Pocket packs:
- Open Pokémon TCG Pocket
- Tap on the main screen to advance into the game
- Click on one of the featured packs from the home screen
- Choose "Select other booster packs" at the bottom right of the game
- Select the older expansion you would like to open from the popup window
- Choose a pack from that expansion and rip it open to collect some cards
If Pokémon TCG Pocket brings new packs to the game and it looks like Genetic Apex, Mythical Island, or even Space-Time Smackdown are gone, they aren't. Rest assured you can follow the steps above and open them to your heart's content.
