Trade Tokens are live in Pokemon TCG Pocket, allowing you to swap cards with your friends to complete your collection.

It's finally here! Players can officially trade Pokémon cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket by using Trade Tokens. You can only trade certain rarities and both players will need enough tokens to complete the trade. So, how do you get these tokens?

We'll walk you through everything you need to know.

Once you login for the first time after the update, you'll be rewarded a set of Trade Tokens and Trade Stamina in Pokémon TCG Pocket. That's the first way you'll get your hands on some, by just collecting them from your in-game mailbox.

When it comes to Trade Stamina, you can use hourglasses like you do for Wonder Picks to get more right away, or just wait for it to replenish over time. For Trade Tokens, though, follow these steps to add more to your account:

  1. Go to your card collection in Pokémon TCG Pocket
  2. Select a 3-Diamond or higher rarity card
  3. Press the Obtain Items button
  4. Choose to exchange a duplicate card for an amount of Trade Tokens
    • The amount gained increases alongside the card rarity

Make sure you don't use a card you only have one of. This will exchange the card for the tokens, meaning it will get rid of it. So, use a rare card you have duplicates of and don't intend on trading to a friend.

Now that you've got some Trade Tokens to your name in Pokémon TCG Pocket, you get to put them to use. Here are the steps to doing so:

  1. Go to the Social Hub
  2. Select the Trade button
  3. Press the next Trade button that appears
  4. Pick a card that you would like to trade to them and press OK
  5. Press OK again to confirm the trade and give up the necessary amount of Trade Tokens and Trade Stamina

Just like with earning Trade Tokens, the higher the rarity of the card, the more Trade Tokens you'll have to use to send it to a friend. Keep that in mind, as you'll get back a card of the same rarity level, so at least they won't go to waste.
