It is entirely possible to add Pokémon TCG Pocket cards to your collection that are in a language other than your system’s native one.
The newest Pokémon mobile game is all about collecting cards and battling. But did you know that in Pokémon TCG Pocket, you can collect cards of other languages? This goes for everyone around the world, too.
No matter where you're playing and what language your game is set to, you can get cards in a variety of languages. You just have to be friends with players from different parts the world. Let's go over how it works.
How to get Pokémon TCG Pocket cards in other languages
At launch, trading is not available in Pokemon TCG Pocket. You can battle friends in a Private Match, but that's all the player-to-player interaction between friends right now. When trading is added to the game, this will become a lot easier.
Until then, you have to make friends with someone. This can be done by getting their Friend Code on social media or just by adding them after a Versus battle. As far as we know, you can select your game's language upon startup and matchmaking is not region-based.
So, you might come across someone playing in a different language. You won't see that in the battle, as it will default to your language, but there's a feature called Wonder Pick. This allows you to pick a face down card from a friend.
Here is where you'll see if the Pokémon TCG Pocket card is in another language. If it is, all you have to do is spend your stamina to Wonder Pick. Select the card from those that are face down and it will be added to your collection.

How to see and use cards of a different language
There are several languages supported in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Those are:
- English
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Korean
- Traditional Chinese
So, when you get a card in one of these languages that isn't your game's default, you can view it in your collection. Just go to the cards you own and find the card you're looking for on the page. Tap on it and look forward the world icon at the top.
Press that to open a drop down, if you see a number there indicating you have more than one language available. Choose the other language of the card you own in Pokémon TCG Pocket, and it will showcase that version on your screen.
