Venture has officially entered Overwatch 2 as a DPS hero! Read on for the full list of Venture's abilities, details about their ultimate, and everything to know about the hero's story in Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 Venture abilities
- Smart Excavator (Primary Fire): Launch a seismic charge that bursts after a short distance.
- Burrow (Ability): Move underground and become invulnerable. Then, emerge and deal damage to enemies.
- Drill Dash (Ability): Dash forward, pushing enemies back. This can be used underground with a reduced cooldown.
- Clobber (Melee): Quick melee deals more damage.
- Explorer's Resolve (Passive): Using abilities grants temporary shields.
- Tectonic Shock (Ultimate): Send out damaging shockwaves.
Venture's primary fire is Smart Excavator, which lets them launch a seismic charge. This bursts after a short distance. Meanwhile, the hero's quick melee is Clobber. In terms of their abilities, they include Burrow and Drill Dash. While Burrow lets Venture go underground and emerge to deal damage, Drill Dash lives up to its namesake by making Venture dash forwards and push opponents back. Overwatch 2 Venture ultimate
As for Venture's ultimate, it's Tectonic Shock. When using this move, Venture's weapon transforms and sends out shockwaves that travel along the ground. Enemy players who get hit by Tectonic Shock get knocked into the air as well.
During Tectonic Shock, Venture can use Burrow and Drill Dash. In terms of ammo, Smart Excavator gets fully reloaded when activating the ultimate. Tectonic Shock can neither be hacked by Sombra nor interrupted by crowd control.
Overwatch 2 Venture story
According to Blizzard, Venture is a "globe-trotting archaeologist and explorer." They also have "a passion for solving history's mysteries." Their birthday is Aug. 6 and they're 26 years old. Venture is from Nova Scotia, Canada, but as a member of the Wayfinder Society, the hero travels around the world to uncover artifacts and protect archaeological sites.
While in Ilios, Venture encountered Talon and fought against them. After driving Talon members out of the site, Venture began to wonder what the organization had been doing there in the first place. This became a new mystery to solve.
