Here are all of the tank, damage, and support heroes in Overwatch 2 plus all of their perks, abilities, passives, and ultimates.
Before jumping into a match in Overwatch 2, every player must select a hero from one of three role categories. From left to right, these roles are tank, damage, and support. Understanding what each Overwatch 2 role does can lead to victory. Read on for our quick Overwatch 2 role guide to get the basics down.

Overwatch 2 roles explained
- Tank: These heroes can make space for their teammates, soak quite a bit of damage, and push their team forward. Tanks in Overwatch 2 have reduced critical damage and knockbacks.
- Damage: These heroes can engage enemies directly or even flank them. Ultimately, damage heroes want to secure eliminations.
- Support: As for support heroes, they're not simply "healers." Rather, they can empower their teammates thanks to different utilities. Support heroes help their teammates survive and give them that extra boost or assist with a setup to succeed.
