Why did Overwatch 2 revert the Roadhog rework?
On Aug. 26, Overwatch 2 updated Roadhog by removing his Pig Pen ability and returning the Take a Breather one to its original slot. Roadhog's secondary fire also made a comeback.
According to the developers, Pig Pen was meant to give the tank hero more presence on the battlefield. However, it ended up reinforcing the Chain Hook combo and limiting his flexibility. Therefore, the classic primary and secondary fire on his Scrap Gun weapon got restored to give him more consistent damage and help him make space in the front line.
"The Take a Breather adjustments have been successful, offering greater defensive uptime without excessive personal sustain, so its functionality remains the same, but it has been moved to Ability 2 with a default toggle and additional cancel options to keep that flexibility intact," the developers added in the latest patch notes.
The start of Overwatch 2 Season 18 also included updates to Roadhog's perks. Pent Up and Hogdrogen Exposure got replaced with Shrapnel Launcher and Pulled Pork. Below are all of the latest Roadhog patch notes.
