Third-person view isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but Overwatch 2 makes it easy to switch to a first-person perspective in Stadium mode.

Trying the new Stadium mode in Overwatch Season 2 has been a blast, but the third-person view confuses some players who are used to the first-person view. However, Overwatch 2 didn't let us down and allowed the players to change it. Let's see how!

Stadium mode

Stadium mode in Overwatch 2 closely resembles the structure of a first-person shooter (FPS) like VALORANT or Counter-Strike 2. Each match begins with a buy phase, where you choose items and buffs for your hero before diving into rounds of action. Every hero offers different ability combinations, which can feel overwhelming at first, but don’t worry. Overwatch 2 provides recommended builds if you’d rather not spend too much time experimenting. The goal, of course, is to outplay the enemy and win the match.

Stadium is a best-of-seven (Bo7) mode, meaning the first team to win four rounds takes the victory. As you play, you'll also complete challenges and earn rewards, like an exclusive new skin for Soldier: 76.

How to switch perspectives in the new mode?

As you might have noticed, it is in third-person by default, which may not be for everyone. However, you are not forced to play with that configuration. Overwatch 2 allows players to change to first-person view in the Stadium mode. To change it, follow this step-by-step guide:

  • Open the Settings menu and go to the Controls tab.
