How to Build a Base in Once Human

Base Building is extremely important in Once Human as the game requires you to rest and recuperate when you take a break from gaming. You have to collect resources and even craft new things once you get the resources. Later, as you venture outwards to explore the map - this is what the game is all about - you will also need to move bases. However, before going deeper, here’s a quick guide on How to Build a base in Once Human.

Once Human is an open-world MMO game that allows you to explore and try to save the world. You have to figure out upgrades to your equipment and that requires collecting resources. You can also craft upgrades to your equipment and all of this is easier done when you have a stable base as the center of your actions. 

Before venturing out to build a base, however, you must consider a few things. 

The location of the base is essential as you can calculate how far you are from civilization, resources, and the like. The closer the resources, the better it is for you to make new things. It will also ensure that you can build your base more efficiently and at a faster rate.

However, areas with higher resources usually also have other players nearby. As a new player (assuming you are starting new), you must keep your distance from opponents. You don’t know how powerful the neighbor is. In a PvP game such as Once Human, proximity is not a welcome virtue. So you have to strike a balance between resources and distance from opponents. 

To build a base you need to enter Build Mode. On PC, you can do this by pressing B. You can then right-click to select from the list of options.

In Once Human, you do not need to worry about the nature of the terrain to build your base. The game will automatically create a floor for you which will ensure a level field. Even though Once Human is fairly liberal when it comes to where and how you can build your territory, there are a few restrictions. You cannot build your Base in the following locations:

Most of these points are fairly self-explanatory. You cannot build your base on top of other player’s bases. Obstructing roads will break the game play for everyone concerned. At the same time, there are certain locations in the map that are a strict no when it comes to building a base in Once Human.
