How to join the Mages Guild in Oblivion Remastered

One of the more prestigious guilds in Cyrodiil is the Mages Guild, and you don't have to be a mage character to join it in Oblivion Remastered. Fortunately, joining the Mages Guild is extremely simple. All you have to do is travel to a major city in Cyrodiil. Whether you head to the north to Bruma or the west to Chorrol, simply make your way to a city's gates and enter it.

From there, you want to find the local Mages Guild building. This is usually located right next to the Fighters Guild building and you can often tell which is which by the symbol on the red banner that's outside the buildings. For the Mages Guild, you'll see a magic symbol, while the Fighters Guild has a sword on the banner.

When you find the Mages Guild, enter through the front door and speak with the guild master. This NPC is usually found on the top floor of the guild, but you can also find them on the bottom floor. Keep talking to NPCs until you find the guild master, and when you do, ask them about joining the Mages Guild.

Your request will be met with an automatic "yes," and from here, you're a member of the Mages Guild. Unlike the Fighters Guild, you don't have to complete contracts to advance in the guild.

Instead, your mission is to get a recommendation for every Mages Guild master around the map. When you speak to a guild master, ask them about their recommendation, and they'll tell you what you need to get theirs. Most of the time, you have to solve a problem for the guild master, and upon completion of your task, you receive their recommendation.

You need to visit every major city in Cyrodiil to find all the local Mages Guilds and get each of the recommendations. When you get every recommendation you need, you'll be admitted to the Arcane University in Oblivion Remastered. This is the highest honor for a mage, and you'll gain access to a wealth of knowledge and get to meet new characters.
