Arcane University is a prestigious location, but how do you reach it?
Arcane University is the end goal for any aspiring mage in Oblivion Remastered. It's where you get to harness the power of your magicka and become one of the most popular mages in the entire game. However, if you're trying to visit there to see what it's all about or take the next steps in the Mages Guild questline, you might struggle to find exactly where it is on the map.
Even if you complete the "Joining the Mages Guild" questline in Oblivion Remastered, you won't get any sort of quest marker for the Arcane University location. This means you have to find the university yourself, and if you have nowhere to look, it can take a while to scour the entirety of Cyrodiil.

Fortunately, you're able to visit the Arcane University right from the start of Oblivion Remastered. It's a fast travel option by default for all players, so you can technically visit the location as soon as you step out of the sewers after the tutorial.
To find the Arcane University, simply open your map and zoom in on the Imperial City, which is the central location in Cyrodiil. In Imperial City, look for a green fast travel icon in the southeast part of the city. Here, you should find "Imperial City, The Arcane University." It's right across from a bridge that leads to the Arboretum in Imperial City.
While hovering over the green Arcane University icon, click on it to fast travel straight to the location. You'll respawn looking at a large, castle-like building that's called the Arch-Mage Quarters. You can freely enter there, but there's not much to do other than speak to Raminus Polus, who is the current Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild.
This is who you need to speak to after receiving all seven of your Mage Guild recommendations in Oblivion Remastered. If you don't have all seven recommendations, the Arch-Mage tells you to return when you have them. Until that happens, you can't access any other location at the Arcane University.
To speedtrack getting all of your recommendations, fast travel to every major city in Oblivion Remastered, find the Mages Guild, speak to the guild master, complete their quest, and then rinse and repeat until you have seven recommendations. You can freely fast travel to all major cities in Cyrodiil right from the start of the game, so it shouldn't take long to visit them all.
