Can you play Rematch with friends on other platforms?
Rematch is a brand new sports game that puts a new spin on Rocket League. It looks like normal soccer (football), but players can utilize a plethora of abilities to perform tricks and flashy plays to get the ball in the net. With the game now fully released, players are anxious to hop in and start experiencing the new title for themselves. However, as with any new multiplayer game, the community is curious about whether or not Rematch features crossplay.
Crossplay has become a standard and expected feature in today's gaming industry, especially when it comes to multiplayer titles. Crossplay allows players to group up with their friends who are playing on different platforms. With Rematch launching on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, many players might have friends on another platform whom they want to play with.

Unfortunately, the developers at Sloclap have confirmed that Rematch is not crossplay compatible at launch. This is highly disappointing to all of the fans who expected crossplay to arrive when the official release date came around, as now they are limited to matchmaking with players on their system alone.
The developers haven't given a concrete reason why crossplay isn't included at launch, but they did state that adding the feature to Rematch is one of the current top priorities. Still, this doesn't help the fact that there's still no timetable for the release date of crossplay.
With Rematch being a 5v5 online multiplayer game, the absence of crossplay really hurts those without any friends on their same platform. This means that these players will be forced to matchmake with four random players every time they want to play a match. While this isn't a huge deal in casual playlists, Rematch has launched with a fleshed-out Ranked mode, which can be difficult to navigate without a full team all communicating with one another.
Hopefully, Sloclap finds a way to deliver crossplay in an upcoming update. As of right now, though, we have no estimate for when crossplay is going to be added to Rematch.
