Here’s how to make sense of the minimap in Deadlock.

One of the most intimidating aspects of Deadlock is its minimap, which can quickly become a bit chaotic and filled with all sorts of different symbols. Lucky for you, we are here with a complete explanation of each symbol, when they appear, and how you can draw on the minimap instead of having to ping.

Deadlock minimap symbol meanings

In Deadlock, there is a minimap on the bottom right corner of your screen that give you valuable information about the locations of your allies, enemies, and important PvE objectives. Here is what each symbol means along with what time they unlock in the game.

  • Triangle without any lines below it: Small camp which spawns at 2:00
  • Triangle with one line below it: Medium camp which spawns at 7:00
  • Triangle with two lines below it: Hard camp which spawns at 7:00
  • Gray box with an arrow: Teleporters that spawn at 10:00
  • Green shop icon: Curiosity shops that are open and can be accessed
  • Yellow icon in the middle of the map: Mid boss (if it is alive)
  • Single filled-in diamond: Initial Guardian
  • Larger single diamond without filler: Walker
  • Two filled diamonds stacked together: Two Guardians just before the base
  • Colorless hollow diamonds: Shrines and Patron

How to draw on the minimap in Deadlock

In order to draw on the minimap in Deadlock, simply mouse over it and hold down the Alt key. This will allow you to write on the map for your allies to see, making it much easier to ping certain targets or get your team to rally at different points on the map.
