Morning stars attack: Lumi's Moveset in Brawl Stars
The story of the new Brawl Stars brawler states that Lumi traded her drumsticks to play proper music in Starr Park. The girl took morning stars instead: a club-like weapon from the Medieval era.
Sure, Lumi doesn’t use her morning stars in those ancient ways. She can throw and pull them back to damage opponents. With some amazingly powerful ground smashes, the brawler can cause explosions around the Brawl Stars maps.
It is unclear if Lumi has enough time to play music. Those battles seem to be her new passion!
- Good Morning... Star, main attack: Lumi throws her morning stars, one per attack. They reach far away and land there. The third attack makes the weapon return, and the morning stars damage everyone on their way back.
- Blast Beat, Super: With three ground pounds, Lumi creates areas of explosion. The most distant is the biggest, and it deals the highest damage why also making the victim unable to walk.
Lumi's attacks in Brawl Stars are powered up by magic. Lumi can control ice, and this element makes her main attack even more dangerous. The fire element is the strength behind her Super.
Lumi Best Build in Brawl Stars
Like all the other brawlers, Lumi has two Star Powers and two Gadgets.
- Star Power 1: 42% Burnt. When Lumi uses her Super, it burns an area around the main explosion.
- Star Power 2: Half-Time. The returning morning stars slow down opponents on hit.
- Gadget 1: Hit the Lights. Lumy can ignite her morning stars when they are on the ground. The surrounding opponents get fire damage.
- Gadget 2: Grim And Frostbitten. The morning stars on the ground are surrounded by the frozen wind, so the area around them becomes slippery.
The best build for Lumi in Brawl Stars is the following.
- 42% Burnt (Star Power 1) and Hit the Lights (Gadget 1). With this build, Brawl Stars Lumi boosts her damage in team fights and becomes able to reach opponents who try to escape the returning morning stars.
- As for Gears, Speed and Damage are pretty good choices for Lumi. Speed allows the brawler to set the best position for attacks: on shot and on return. Damage intensifies the main strength of this character.
Some players prefer taking Half-Time to make the opponents more vulnerable after the morning stars return. While the idea is great, using it requires skills. It is not easy to land the returning hit, so the Star Power 2 may not be very helpful. Maybe your skills are good enough?
The same generally goes for Grim And Frostbitten. The slippery ground requires precise follow-up actions. Increasing the initial damage is a more straightforward approach.

How to play Lumi: Brawl Stars guide
A damage dealer with far-reaching projectiles? This formula works well in Brawl Stars, and Lumi excels in both of these aspects. Her morning stars deal devastating damage on hit. The shots cover an impressively big distance, and it’s difficult to just run away from them.
On the other hand, Brawl Stars limits Lumi with the number of shots. The returning routes are quite obvious, so opponents can avoid the back hit.
To play Lumi, you need to be agile with your movements.
- Look for the best positions for the initial shots.
- Predict the actions of your opponents to really hit them with the returning morning stars.
- Be careful with your defense. Close-range opponents easily destroy Lumi: Like Edgar with his endless punches. You should retreat quickly to avoid unfavorable combat.
Lumi is especially good at surprising attacks from bushes. Make sure you don’t let opponents come too close.
The best modes for Lumi
The new Brawl Stars brawler is great at Hot Zone. Lumi can stay at a distance and cover the active area with her projectiles. After capturing the Hot Zone, don’t let the opponents come close but don’t become an easy victim in the open area.
In Heist, Lumi is better at offense. She easily aims at the safe and deals a lot of damage.
In Duo and Trio Showdown, it would be better to play Brawl Stars Lumi with close-range teammates, like Buzz. They should use the moment of Lumi’s attack to approach quickly and seal the deal with a kill. Such teammates are perfect for protecting Lumi as well. The same goes for Knockout and Bounty.
Solo Showdown is tricky for Lumi and requires exceptional skills.
Lumi’s Super is effective in the Gems Grab Brawl Stars mode. It can damage opponents when they gather in the middle, and it can destroy a gem carrier quickly.
