Who is Brawl Stars Frank?
The true identity of this brawler is not a secret. Frankenstein's monster got himself free from the mad professor who created the creature from dead bodies. Now, he is free to have fun instead of harassing innocent villagers. The monster took the name Frank to emphasize this new stage of his life.
Sure, Frank still likes to battle now and again — but strictly on the Brawl Stars maps.
How to play Frank in Brawl Stars: abilities, guide
Frank deals high damage to opponents in Brawl Stars, even with his basic attack. He smashes the ground with his hammers, which creates cracks around the hit spot. If someone from the opposing team is in the area of effect, they get damaged.
Brawl Stars Frank uses the same type of attack for his Super. This hit is slower, but in addition to bare damage, it stuns opponents. If you land this Super, Frank has enough time to spam his main attack and simply kill his victim.
While Frank is certainly great in the damage department, he has big problems with speed. Even the main attack is slow, and skilled opponents can escape it. If Frank whiffs his Super, he becomes open and vulnerable.
Brawl Stars Frank is a Tank character. This means he has enough health to take some damage and land his attacks. It is especially helpful for the Super. Opponents think they can defeat Frank before he smashes the ground, but they are suddenly stunned and killed.
The best modes for Frank
Any Brawl Stars mode where players should gather in a specific area is good for Frank.
- Hot Zone — Keep him somewhat outside the zone and hit the ground with the basic attack. Try to approach unnoticed through the grass, and let your teammates attack from another angle. When the zone is yours, be proactive, and greet opponents before they come close.
- Heist — Frank can be in defense, as his main attack covers a nice distance. If he can sneak to the opponents’ safe, he will deal a lot of damage quickly.
- Gem Grab — Keep Frank at a distance and cover the actions of your teammates. This brawler is not the best as Gems keeper, as he is slow. However, Frank can scare opponents away, and just don’t let them come close to your side of the map.
The game modes with all-over-the-map battles can go both ways for Frank. In Showdown, Bounty, and Knockout, you should always consider the attack speed: it’s Frank’s main weakness. Proper positioning to not expose yourself to quick attacks is very important. With some teammates, Frank has more chances to win.
In really quick modes, like Brawl Ball, Hockey, and Basketball, Frank is not the best choice.
The best teammates and worst matchups for Frank
As Frank is effective at the mid-range, it is a good idea to have close- and long-range teammates with him.
- Such brawlers as Buzz, Edgar, and Kit can attack opponents when they are busy escaping Frank’s hammer. Or if opponents focus on close-range attackers, Frank has time to land his main or Super.
- Marksman and other long-range characters, such as Maisie, Bo, Finx, and Brock, can attack those who try to keep themselves away from Frank’s area of effect. The same goes for Artillery brawlers, such as Barley, Dynamike, and Juju.
Those who are good allies for Frank are the most dangerous for him.
- The guy can’t properly deal with quickly approaching short-range opponents. When Buzz or Edgar use their Super to rush at Frank, he has no time to respond.
- Long-range opponents can keep themselves away from Franks’ hammer and shoot him. Artillery brawlers don’t let Frank stay safe at his best distance.
- Frank may have problems with massive damage dealers, such as Meg, Surge, Colt, and R-T.
