Check out our build guide for the Sora in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), featuring his items, skills, emblems, and combos.

Sora is a new flexible hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) who can switch up his combo whenever needed. His kit revolves around his Thunder and Torrent transformations. This allows him to change into an assassin or a tank playstyle, respectively. That said, this also means he has a lot of abilities to consider. In fact, he has nine active abilities, which can be pretty overwhelming if you don’t know how to use them.

To help you out, here is a build guide for Sora in MLBB, including the fighter hero's best items, skills, emblem, combos, and counters.

Skill analysis for Sora in MLBB

Passive: Mystic Surge

Sora leaps forward, dealing moderate Physical Damage based on his Total Physical Attack. If he hits an enemy hero or reaches maximum range, he slams the ground, dealing additional Physical Damage that scales with his Max HP and slowing enemies briefly. Successful hits reduce the skill’s cooldown.

Skill 1: Sundering Strike

Default:

  • Sora strikes twice, dealing Physical Damage that scales with his Total Physical Attack, then lunges forward, dealing additional Physical Damage that scales with his Max HP.

Thunder:

  • Sora strikes multiple times, dealing Physical Damage that scales with his Total Physical Attack, then lunges forward, dealing additional Physical Damage that scales with his Max HP. He can move freely while casting this skill.

Torrent:

Best Sora item build in MLBB

Here is what our recommended build for Sora in MLBB:

You will want to start with Basic Boots to activate your retribution. Then, build War Axe for the stacking True Damage before upgrading to Tough Boots. Once you have your core item, go for Cursed Helmet for the Hybrid Defense shred and faster camp clearing.

In the late game, purchase Brute Force Breastplate for more defence with a bit of extra damage and movement speed. Queen's Wings is your next go-to item to survive late-game team fights. Your final item will vary. Generally, you can go for Guardian Helmet for the massive health regeneration. Otherwise, you can swap it out for Dominance Ice if you struggle with high-sustain team comps or Immortality for the extra revive.

To complement the item build above, use this Custom Fighter Emblem set:

The first slot can be Vitality for extra Max HP. The next two will vary depending on your role or playstyle. If you play jungle, equip Seasoned Hunter in the second slot. Otherwise, get Festival of Blood for an extra Spell Vamp. The third slot is Temporal Reign for faster ability cooldowns after casting Ultimate. However, you can also go for Impure Rage for more damage or Brave Smite for extra healing.

For the Battle Spell, it is mandatory to have Retribution if you are playing Jungle. If you're assigned to other roles, go for Flicker for surprise plays. Vengeance can also be a good alternative if you want a more tanky bruiser playstyle. Another good spell for team fighting is Petrify, so that you can lock down key targets.

Easy combo tips to learn

Once thing you need to know is that Sora scales with his Max HP. This means you will need to build like a tank, even if he is categorized as a Fighter/Assassin. That said, you can't just fully rely on his tanky Torrent form. Your transformation will vary depending on the situation, but the combo remains similar. For the early game or 1v1 situations, you will want to capitalize on the burst damage from Sora's Thunder form. You will be sacrificing a lot of survivability, but you can deal a ton of damage.

When it comes to team fights, this is where Torrent form shines the best. You are not only tanky, but you also pack a punch as your damage scales with your Max HP. This form also has Crowd Control (CC), allowing you to initiate fights. A good combo for initiation while in Torrent form is to use your Skill 2 to close the gap, cast Ultimate to vacuum nearby enemies in one location, then recast your Skill 2 to push enemies, activate your Skill 1 for a stun effect, then finish it off with recasting your Ultimate for another stun.

To summarize, the combo is: Skill 2>Ultimate>Skill2>Skill1>Ultimate

One thing you also need to remember is that he has a CC Immunity effect when transforming. This can be handy when you know you are about to get hit by CCs. However, don't wait for enemies to hit you. How quickly you can pull off your combo is important to avoid giving enemies breathing room.

Hero and item counters for Sora

Hero counters

Sora falls behind if he loses his mobility. This is why suppression supports like Franco, Minotaur, and Kaja are good counter picks. Heroes that are good with 1v1 scenarios, like Thamuz and Belerick, are also good picks. Both of them can tank hits while giving allies enough time to position themselves to take down Sora. Be careful, however, because he is near indestructible when paired with supports like Angela and Floryn.

Item counters

For items, your best options are Queen's Wings and Antique Cuirass for Fighter and Tank heroes. As for marksman, you can go for Wind of Nature for the temporary Physical Damage invulnerability. For mages, you simply have to stay behind your tanks or use Winter Crown for the stasis effect. For general use, Immortality should give you a second chance to escape with its revive effect.

That sums up our MLBB build guide for the fighter hero, Sora. If you want to see how he fares with other heroes in the game, check out our updated tier list to decide your next meta picks for every patch update.
