Check out the esports.gg build guide on mastering the assassin hero revamp of Hanzo in MLBB.

Hanzo is one of the underappreciated heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), until his recent revamp. The hero gets a much-needed overhaul, balancing his capabilities in jungle clearing and being a threat on the map.

The biggest problem Hanzo had pre-revamp was how his Ultimate would stun him if the enemies managed to kill his demon form, making him vulnerable to counterattacks. With the new update, instead of being stunned, he gains a brief immunity period, providing a small window to escape or do an outplay.

To help you get familiar with Revamp Hanzo in MLBB, here’s a guide covering his best build, emblems, battle spells, combos, and hero counters.

Skill analysis for Revamp Hanzo in MLBB

Passive: Ame No Habakiri

Hanzo dashes in the target direction, leaving behind a dark mist that deals Physical Damage to enemies within the area multiple times. This damage counts as Basic Attack damage but cannot critically strike.

The dark mist also slows enemies while granting Hanzo increased Movement Speed.

Skill 1: Ninjutsu: Demon Feast

This skill can only be used on targets with max stacks of Dark Ninjutsu. If the target is a Common Creep, Hanzo will immediately devour them and digest over time to restore a portion of his HP. When used on an enemy hero, it deals Physical Damage. When targeting Lord or Turtle, it deals True Damage.

Skill 2: Ninjutsu: Dark Mist

Hanzo dashes in the target direction, leaving a dark mist that deals damage to enemies in the area multiple times over a short duration. This damage counts as Basic Attack damage but cannot critically strike. The mist also slows enemies while granting Hanzo increased Movement Speed.

Ultimate: Kinjutsu: Pinnacle Ninja

Hanzo charges into battle as Hanekage, consuming Energy over time. He regenerates Energy when nearby units die, with a greater amount gained from enemy heroes. Once all Energy is consumed, Hanzo’s body is gradually pulled toward Hanekage’s current position.

While in Hanekage form, Hanzo’s body remains invincible, and Hanekage can move through obstacles while gaining increased Movement Speed and Attack Speed. If Hanekage is defeated, it immediately returns to Hanzo’s position, restoring some of his HP and making him untargetable for a brief moment. This effect also triggers if the skill is cast again. If Hanekage is killed, Hanzo becomes slowed and his location is revealed for a short duration.

Best Hanzo item build in MLBB

Use this recommended build for a balance between damage and sustain for Hanzo:

The Cooldown Reduction from Magic Boots is perfect for Hanzo so he can spam abilities. The Ice Retribution blessing is required to slow down targets and give you more time to chase or escape.

Corrosion Scythe gives you stacking damage with each basic attack on a target and slows them for a brief period. Partner it with Demon Hunter Sword for more attack speed with a bonus lifesteal. These two items should provide Hanzo with enough sustain and damage in the early game.

For mid to late-game, go for Golden Staff for more attack speed, Malefic Gun for increased attack range, and Sea Halberd to increase damage against enemies with higher max HP than you, on top of reducing the healing effects received by targets hit.

If you are struggling to survive in fights, consider exchanging one of your late-game items to Winter Crown or Immortality.

The recommended item build for Revamp Hanzo already has a ton of attack speed stats. For the Emblem set, you can focus on other aspects like Rupture for the adaptive penetration in the first slot.

The second slot can have Wilderness Blessing so you can move faster when roaming around the jungle or river. The final slot should be Weakness Finder to slow down enemies' movement and attack speed when you hit them with basic attacks.

For the Battle Spell, Retribution is mandatory for all junglers. Without this spell, you will struggle to clear camps and gain less EXP and Gold from jungle creeps and objectives.

Easy combo tips to learn

If you are farming in the jungle, you will need to finish the creeps using your Skill 1 for the instant kill and extra healing effect. This also allows you to save your Retribution spell for more important encounters.

Your combo revolves around reaching max stacks of Dark Ninjutsu on a target to activate the Demon Feast. This is why you build attack speed items, as shown in the recommended build for Revamp Hanzo.

The fastest way to stack up on Dark Ninjutsu is to hit enemies with Dark Mist to slow enemies before you bombard them with basic attacks. It gets more powerful when you are in Demon Form as it can knock enemies back.

If you are activating your Ultimate, try and use it inside a bush. When enemies kill you while in Demon Form, you’ll have a bit more time to escape, as they’ll have to find you first.

Hero and item counters for Hanzo

Hero counters

Hanzo is strong in his Demon Form but can also be vulnerable while in this state. Heroes with hard crowd control like Chou and Tigreal can stall out the fight and waste their Ultimate duration.

Alternatively, you can use high mobility and burst-type assassins like Ling, Fanny, and Helcurt to outmaneuver Hanzo.

Item counters

For item counters, you will need to reduce his healing power with Dominance Ice if you are playing as the team's tank. If you play a marksman hero, go for Wind of Nature which grants temporary immunity to basic attack damage.

For mages, there's not much you can do if Hanzo starts chasing you. Go for an Ice Queen Wand to slow him down and never roam the map alone.

That sums up our Revamp Hanzo build guide in MLBB. You are now ready to parkour your way to victory using the Cyan Finch.
